130,000 miles is a lot. If I were you, I'd look for an sn95. You can find a V6 with less miles or a GT with around the same mileage both for around $7k.

I agree with Skylar. I know it's difficult, but take some time the find the right car. There're out there, in good condition, and at a good price.

Avoid these mistakes: do not get a v6. Do not get an auto. Try not to buy one that's heavily modified. I would suggest a 96-98 cobra. That's definitely in your budget. The mod bug will almost definitely hit you and you won't want to get stuck in a slow boring turd. Miles aren't too big a deal. Just go over it and you might need to spend like $500 to make it a reliable daily drive ie: brakes, hoses, thermostat, belts, etc. just my two cents.

There's nothing wrong with a V6. In my experience, a extremely reliable, strong motor with a lot of potential.

But a 96-98 Cobra is a great choice

Personally, I would buy modded though. A lot cheaper in the long run.

There is if you like to go fast. And buying someone else's heavily modded car usually turns out to be a nightmare. Buy one and find out.

Ahh thats weak. Sorry to hear that. If they totaled my car I'd consider making the drive. Good luck selling it though.

Haven't bought one, but have had friend who did with no problems. You just have to look over it carefully and scrutinize it.

Never settle. Get what you want. I also feel that mileage on the CL car is too high and there will be problems sooner than you think. You want the Mustang ownership experience to be a pleasant one, not one filled with repairs and downtime, never mind the expensive bills. Save up if you have to. You get what you pay for 99 out of 100 times. Best of luck!
