Have so much work & $ into my bullitt & a stock 5.0 took it!!! I was pulling pretty nicely on him from a 20 roll 1st & 2nd was pulling beautifully then 3rd came & he caught up & passed me like he was on nitrous!!!!!! >:O

I'm with fdjizm. I know better than to try and beat a new 5.0. Those babies have over 100 HP on me, so there's no way I could keep up after 2nd. But that's OK -- I enjoy driving my car, and it still has plenty of power.

I've only ran into one in my '06 that was in a safe place to do a run, smoked em bad....once they missed 3rd lol. Driving my 5.0 I have no doubt it could walk on my '06 with no problem. The new cars are a beast that only get faster after break in, throw minor bolt ons and a tune and they only get better.

 

Wow I killed one in my v6 and all I got in it is a cool air intake Iean the guy could have had bad shifts but I still killed him from a dead stop

Ok wait you killed a 5.0 in a 2000 V6 with only a CAI? Sorry not buying that. I've driven one and an 99 V6, and I'm 99.9% positive I could stop, turn the car off, restart it, smoke the tires, miss every gear and still catch it before the 8th is up and put a bus on it before the 1/4 is up. A 12 second car vs a 15 second car at best?

 

Agreed... An '00 V6 with CAI has no chance unless the guy in the 5.0 has no idea there's a race occurring.

I saw that claim but figured everyone else was just ignoring it.
