Great news, Botchy. I hope it arrives on time and in excellent shape, and that you get to burn up the roads this weekend! Have fun, and drive carefully!

I agree when I get the car I'm sure to be smiling.
I'm supposed to get it today. No calls from the dealer yet. We'll see how it goes Crossing my fingers.
Hey Botchy,

As I mentioned before, this happens all the time and it’s not harmful to the sale or the customer. Regarding your order, if it’s not at your dealer today, have them call the trucking company.

Deysha,

First let me commend you for taking an active part in the Forum and trying to reassure customers about their vehicles and concerns.

Regarding your comment that this happens all the time and is not harmful to the sale or to the customer needs, should to be brought to Corporate's attention. As a Dealer , both Ford and it's franchises operate under the Automotive cloud of perception , and frankly perception from the consumer might as well be fact. Since , as a Dealer, I have tried to smooth this over and explained how it is a concern, and this thread is all about a concern with a consumer, it is in reality a problem. If you look at the " Bait and Switch " comments, the ones about computer manipulation, etc. it becomes apparent buyers see this as something that is not on the up and up. Both you and I realize it is common, and since folks on here see it as a concern it is something that should be addressed. This thread could give you a strong leg to stand on to show an issue. I know it has been a concern more often than not with my customers and I am at just one Franchise - though we are multi line and I see the problem with other makes as well.

Keep up the concern and the help, as I am sure many appreciate your assistance and thoughtful commentary. In this case , this is an area that a little tweaking on Ford's part, might make things less anxious for new buyers , IMHO.

Respectfully,

Bill Pemberton

For those of us who have less than satisfying experiences with dealers, it is harmful because it perpetuates the appearance of fraudulent business practices. Whether intentional or not, the fact that it appears that the dealer is attempting to sell a car that is already pre-sold, does not make the dealer look good nor instill trust that the dealer is treating the customer fairly. PERCEPTION some times over-rides fact.

I can name you 3 Ford Dealers in the Chicago area that I will never buy a car from; new or used because of how they've treated their customers... specifically my family members and me.

Hi guys,

Thank you for the compliment! I do understand your concerns. Dealers sometimes put their incoming inventory on our Ford site. The Internet Sales Manager is who handles putting inventory on the web for the dealer. As you already know, dealers are independently owned and operated and have the right to choose what’s displayed.
