Ford Racing Tune

Was wondering if anyone here has had a Ford Racing Tune installed by a Ford dealer, then subsequently had any warranty work done on the engine. If so, was it a problem ? One more thing ....did you like the tune ?

I just asked about this very thing!

Zermat:

I just posted almost the same question yesterday to the forum. Got some answers back on the Ford tune that you may find useful. Check in the 2010-2014, 5.0 modifications forum section.

I was also thinking about this tune: it got a good write up in the Mustang 5.0 Magazine in the March 2011 issue. Critical issue is that it is a FRPP tune, so it should not void your engine warranty as it appears that any other one from the various companies will.

It's still a bit unclear in my mind, but the answer seems to be that while your warranty is still intact if you use this tune, it is no longer a Ford Motor Company warranty, but somehow moves over to be honored by Ford Racing Products. I'm confused, but I guess Ford is Ford, so....

Also suggested is to get the tuner and air filter from someone on the net, not use your local Ford dealer. They'll be more expensive and charge sales tax. Could save you about $ 50-60 buying off a website.

Hope this helps, and I'm still on the fence on whether to buy the tune. Decisions, decisions.
