What better way to say “Happy New Year!” than by letting the competition know that the Mustang isn’t just America’s best selling sports car, but also the world’s. We all know that in terms of sales, it’ll kick some Camaro butt, but proving that point even further is the fact that Mustang sales are up, up, up! Even if you just measure the first part of 2015, Mustang saw nearly 60% sales growth. And that’s before the export models started being built.
Now seen as a world-wide sports car, the Mustang leads America’s foray back into the game as a true sports car maker. Credit where it is due, the C7 Corvette has shown the rest of the world what America can do with a performance car, but now it is the Mustang’s time to shine as the most popular.
Sales numbers don’t include what models were most popular, and in Europe, different laws dictate how you are taxed based on engine size, so while the 5.0 is the car to have State-side, it might be the EcoBoost performance pack that’s the most desirable overseas. I say it is desirable in either configuration, and it looks like the buying public agrees.
