I think a lot of you are operating under the assumption that the police officers initiated the race and not the other way around, which you might have known had you followed the other thread. It puts things in a completely different perspective.

And as I said on that one I wholeheartedly concur with the confiscation of cars that have been involved in street races. When I lived in San Diego County until 2 1/2 years ago, I only heard abput cars being confiscated at semi organized street races in places like indutrial complexes and out of the way roads. I don't know what they do there now, but my suggestion is that if you want to race take it to the track.
So, you always drive by the book?

ok let me clear this up with just a few words for all of you in a drug deal or a prostitution sting....you the criminal are soliciting the official. in this case as mentioned in the first post the cop was trying to race him first. that is soliciting another to commit an offense. why do you think that in the drug world cops cant just go get drugs and lie about their profession. if they are asked...they must state that they are police...believe me i have been down a long road. so IN TEXAS thats how it is.

I'm a whole lot older than you guys. The answer is almost always, but I never street race. Never did, never will.

I live in Brevard County in Florida. There is an 04 black Mach 1 with dark tinted windows that patrols this area. You would never know it was a cop...he can sit right next to you in uniform and all you can see is the "shape" of a man behind the wheel. Up to this point I've never heard of him "starting" a race, but I'm sure some have "tested" him and found out how high the ticket for speeding can be!

You've watched too much TV... no cop has to ID himself if asked... why would I endanger myself or blow the investigation being conducted. You sound like the people who try telling me about how to conduct an investigation because they have watched too much CSI and NYPD Blue.

It IS NOT entrapment if a police officer lies to you about being a cop. Have these people not ever heard of undercover officers? You think they go around admitting they are cops? Sorry, but it doesnt that work that way.
