Coupe vs vert!!!!
IM fixing to be in the market for a 03-04 treminator, or a 2011-up gt. My wife wants a vert and i would prefer a coupe. Anybody got some honest pros and cons on these cars? I hear about leaks and seals on the verts and dont wanna have to deal with that! Let me know what you guys think! Thanks

My 03 cobra vert is great. Just took it to the carwash and sprayed the dust off and no leaks unless you force water at the window seams. Rain no problem. I enjoy having the vert sometimes and wasn't sure if I would. No issues with the top at all. Loving it.

My 2006 is my first (and only so far) Vert so far and I do love having it in the summer... Nothing beats driving with the top down... The top down during a warm summer night or a nice spring day is just awesome...
Depending on how often you would have the top down will gauge whether or not it's worth it... Plus, there is more maintenance involved in top care... It's not huge, but it's something to think about. And like was mentioned above, they usually have a lower gear ratio, which I too replaced with the 3.73's and love 'em! I haven't had any problems with leaks or seals (if you take care of them and park in a garage, it'll be a long time before you have to worry about replacing anything), but I did have my top cut and had to be replaced... And I think twice about taking the car places that may be 'questionable'...
But with all that, chances are I will be getting a Vert again for my next Mustang! For me, it's worth it... I definitely recommend driving one first if you can...

I am not really sure on the '04 and earlier tops, cause I know they use a different mechanism for the top than the one I have, but I like I said before, I have not had any problems with leaks at all... The top closes tight and even the wind noise is pretty minimal! Which is really nice... If you can park it in the garage, that'll cut down on exposure to the elements too, which will help as well...

I been hounding the wife and i think shes fixing to break, so im gettin close to gettin one, just trying to decide wht i want, i love both of the cars but like the 2013 alot, on the other hand the 03-04 would be a lil cheaper for me, plus its got this little whisteling thing under the hood that seems to make it run faster.. Ha ha ha!

LOL! My wife is pretty cool about putting the top down... Sometimes when I think it'll be a little too cold, she'll still want to drop it!

I owned a 2004 and currently drive a 2011 Vert and being in San Diego, this is a year round daily driver! I have the top down everyday it is not raining but will say the 2011 is a tight convertible top and is light years better than the 2004 in quality and rigidity. The top pads and headliner make it very coupe like when the top is up. The side door window raise up slightly to when the doors are closed to seal it up nicely. The top does not sit as nicely in the well and without a boot cover, expect it to collect a lot of dust. I have both the factory soft boot cover and the CDC Tonneau. I will say if you don't drive with the top down more than 75% of the time your are wasting your money and the glass roof is probably better for you. For me it is wind in my hair and I cruise by the beaches on my way to work every morning! LaCosta is gorgeous in the morning
