The CFO of the Family

How many are or have one? I do and I got say I was very surprised at there comment today...

I told the CFO of the family that I am in need of parts to repair the issue that I am currently experiencing with buddy (PS system leaks that should have been caught during Mondays inspection but wern't) and priced the parts and labor from Ford to be about $300+ so I figured it was cost effective to acquire the parts and have them install the parts (which the service guys suggested I do) so I told the CFO about the parts and pricing from them Advanced Auto Parts and they just go for it, and handed me the card....not usual but hey, they said that the only condition was to get parts for the Volvo S40 which I worked on when I got home which I did so I will admit I have a heck of a CFO

My CFO is buying me a procharger this summer for my birthday. I can buy most anything I want as long as it's cash....we don't want debt. The exception being our mortgage. We also financed the GT, but had a nice down payment and paid it off in 18 months. She's a keeper.

well the card I got handed was the debet card...same as cash really...but yea usually they don't want me buying things that arn't needed with out explanation....I just gave a list of parts and no explanation and all I got was go get the parts, im working, just be sure you try and fix the Volvo S40 while your at it...that is the only requirement...

My CFO has serious issues with the financials of requisitioning my new asset. But after quite a few team building excersises and product testing they grudgingly agreed that it is not without it's merit. Now to try to negotiate the add ons...

I know where your coming from the at first were hesitent about the mustang, but once we drove it some, and I explained that the standard trans would be good to get me to learn on before starting a trucking job where the truck would be a standard trans this was a good thing, easy to learn on and to get used to learning when to shift and all that fun stuff, and also it helped that they did not want to keep the Nissan Altima that I got off my parents...so once I got a good deal for the trade ($1,000 for it) they were sold on trading and getting the Mustang

I was surprised that they would be cool with the parts purchase as they usually are concerned about the parts purchasing, same goes for when I suggested getting the clutch extender thing....

You modern Mustang guys have life so easy.

Although it helps that I'm the CFO, we each have an allowance (the same amount) each month. She spends hers, I saved mine for years, and bought a 67...now I'm pretty much spending mine each month on parts.

Life is easier for you because if your Mustang's power steering goes out, you can actually get parts at the local parts store. I would have to either pull a used one at the junk yard and hope it works, or go through a specialty store or restoration shop and pay out the butt for it.

I feel for you, I just dropped my DD off for service, it can suck. But parts are much easier to come by on the newer cars. I really feel for folks who are working on cars that don't have an aftermarket following like Mustangs do - where if a part needs to be replaced your only option is to find a used one.

ah I see, I am just thankful that the debacle that I had with the P/S system is getting fixed and will get don'e correctly. The service manager wants me to contact him directly when I arrive for the appointment so that makes me feel better about this situation, but I can understand paying out the rear end, I have a 1995 F150 that its getting harder and harder to find parts for (there are some companies out there but not many)....
