Exclamation Can you help me decide if this is a good buy please?

Mustang GT
year:2000
Milage: 56k KM

I found a white convertible for $6900 USD. One owner autocheck score 90. The car is 8/10 in condition internal external. All stock except for the rollbar. Is this a good deal? Is there some sort of depreciation for a American car to have everything in Kilometers? Thanks for all that take the time to help me! out!

Also try Truecar.com. Will give you the going price in your area for that car.

With those very low miles (kilometers) and the 'good' condition you describe, I would say that is a good deal provided the title is clean and the description accurate. I would answer 'yes' to the kilometer question about being worth less in the US.
More details would be helpful, like if there is a maintenance history (every fluid should have been changed at least once) and how many owners. If this GT was a one owner that was babied I would jump all over it, vs one that has had 5 owners and an unknown history. It's all in the details. Garage kept? Conv top work OK? Need tires? Everything matters.

yes I mean this car is so ****ing clean, he has all the reciepts of work even the one where he paid cash for it at the dealer.... this guy is old can't drive it anymore it was a once a month ride stored in a air condition garage the guy has $$$. I just can't ****ing stand the color it is white with tan top and tan interior probably the ugliest girly color on a mustang I have seen but for the price I could prob paint the car black and change the top. I just don't want my 2008 GTI anymore I want a RWD car to fishtail a bit

If you're coming out of a 2008 GTI, steer clear of the SN95, no matter how clean or low mileage it is. You will not be happy with the SN95 interior coming from a somewhat current VW interior, especially a GTI. If you want a lower priced nice RWD car, check out 2010 GTs or 2011 V6s with the Performance Package. If you can up your budget, a 13-14 GT would be the best bet, considering the upgraded standard content.

I owned two SN95s. They require a TON of work for the car to feel livable. Even if that one was stick, you would not enjoy driving an SN95 convertible. Trust me.

It sounds like a super car to buy BUT I would suggest you keep looking if you dislike the color combo that much and want to paint it. Quality paint jobs (which would have to include the jambs and engine/trunk areas) start at $5,000 for all the work needed. Add another $1,000 for the top replacement. I'm not sure you want $13k+ into a 16 year old used car unless you planned on keeping it for many years. Then it would be OK as it averages out well even if you sell it for next to nothing. That's your decision. Good luck!

Yes, year 2000 is an SN95, which is the chassis code. Knowing the car you're coming out of, you won't be happy stepping into anything 94-09. The 05-09, you might be content with, but I doubt it. You really need to check out a bunch of Mustangs in your area, of all generations.

I strongly recommend you look at 2010 and up. If you don't care about interior quality and just want to go fast, get an 03-04 Cobra.

Yeah my favorite type of mustang is 99-2004 I don't really care about interior I just love the body but yeah it really is hard finding a low mileage cars around. My gti has 38k on it I don't want to trade it for somethign with 100k miles. I find its going to be hard to get a mustang with those miles

If you say so...

Where do you live and what's your budget? Can you drive stick? Prefer coupe or convertible?

It doesn't matter what anyone else likes. If you like those model years, get one. I owned an '04 Mustang convertible and liked it very much. Everyone has an opinion and can only share their own experiences. Some owners enjoyed their experiences and some disliked them. I would have no trouble at all getting a Mustang from those years that you like if the car was maintained well with low miles. Living in FL should give you access to many low mileage examples if you expand your search outside the Dade area. The west coast of FL is just 4 hours away and is loaded with old farts that just go to Publix and church. Even in Mustangs!! My father in law was such an owner until he passed away, although his was an automatic. Many 'verts will be autos. The percentage of 'verts with manuals is on the lower side. Low mileage examples should be in your budget range too. Just make sure they were garage kept examples. Those monsoon rains during the summer, plus the sun, are brutal on the tops, whether vinyl or cloth. Good luck!!

He personally couldn't go back to an SN95, due to the interior.

I had a 2000 for nearly 10 years. Loved that car. It had a sportier body style. I Put a lot of work into the suspension on that car too. Loved how it drove. Had a Kenny Brown suspension kit on it, and it was like it was on rails. Some days I miss it. I only got rid of it due to electrical gremlins that were popping up.

My current one is an 08'. I love it too, but for different reasons. Muscular body style, nicer ride quality, nicer interior, more power, etc.

I have thought about going back to an SN95 myself. It would have to be a Mach 1 or Cobra though. And it would have to be at a point where it wasn't my daily driver. It would have to be my weekend warrior car.

All that matters is if you enjoy it, but I would also recommend you looked around at the different models and years just to get a better understanding of the differences.

Exactly, I will probably eventually own another one, maybe a Bullitt or Mach 1, but it would not be my only car and/or daily driver. You get spoiler by creature comforts, better seating positions, and interiors that don't rattle apart.
