Camera is a bummer

497 miles and rear view camera not working...sometimes.
Open the trunk...close the trunk camera comes on.
Shut off ignition
Restart & camera does not work
Open Trunk...close trunk...camera comes on

Dealer then says soonest service appointment is 2 weeks down the road.

Maybe I should have kept my 370Z

^^^ +1, like the Z, but love my Stang... Cameras are for SUVs and mini vans, not sports cars

Well, I might agree with you but if Ford's going to install it then it should work for more than 500 miles worth.

That "Rice Burner" for 4 years ran with absolutely No problems and never had to go back to the Dealer for anything. (I did all regular maintenance myself)
Drive a Z, you might like it.

Something I've always wondered about Japanese cars is the price of parts. Like you, after warranty repairs I do myself. My '15 Roush has this camera:

In my humble opinion the more gadgets Ford installs, the more stuff there is to break and fix. So comparatively speakin' how much do you think a 370Z Backup Camera would cost?

Nah, hang onto that Mustang, it will be fine. My '13 had a few aggravating little things for the first few months, i.e. puddles light were crap, convertible top latch broke, drivers window out of alignment, etc. Since all of that was taken care of the car (with 40K miles) has only been to the shop for oil changes.

The thing that would get me is that it's a 2 week wait for them just to see your car. Good luck.

Right, more gadgets that we really don't need. Probably 50% of the service techs have no idea how to repair them.
The 370z backup camera probably in the $250 range...A total guess.
