Matt Damon was pretty hard edge in the Bourne Supremacy.

It was his performance in this movie that lead me to call him soft. Oh well. To each his own.

Just hope the actor can drive and all involved share Steve McQueen's commitment to reality. If it turns out to be computer generated fake scenes it would be a total waste.

theres this one guy i know, his name is Arin Singh, i think he'd make one helluva good Detective Lieutenant Frank Bullitt. i mean, he's got the looks, the skills, and got darn it, people love him!
i hear he does his own stunts too. and he looks sooooo natural behind the wheel of a mustang. im sure thousands of ricer/mopar/chevy fans would switch over to ford, at the mere sight of him driving a '68 GT390 fastback.
*sigh* what a guy...

I was thinking along the same lines with Statham (looking forward to Transporter 2) but I thought the accent might turn some people off.

Are there any plans for a Bullitt remake, if so does anyone have any details
Bullitt Remake Info
There was alot more info on here at one time. The director was the same guy who did Troy and was talking to Brad Pitt about it.
You can vote on how much you anticpate it coming out.

Great choice, Doug! I wouldn't even care if he kept his accent.

I wouldn't mind either..but I'm sure it would annoy some people hence my statement.
I personally think Statham is the one but who knows.

Mel Gibson too old? He's got some Ford drivin' experience!

This is the story I saw back in late 2003.

Yeah, yeah, they're remaking everything. We know this. I'm amazed my eyeballs haven't squirted from their sockets with all the rolling they've done over announcements of movie remakes. But I'm no longer surprised.
The latest rumor is that the cop thriller Bullitt is on the chopping block, with Wolfgang Petersen (The Perfect Storm) interested in helming. On top of that, Petersen wants the Achilles of his historical epic Troy, Brad Pitt, to take on the lead role.
The 1968 original starred one of the coolest cats ever to grace the silver screen, Steve McQueen, as a police detective who drives his Mustang GT at ridiculous speeds through the streets of San Francisco. Not only did the movie influence many cop flicks and car chases that followed, but come on… the guy's name is Frank Bullitt! It doesn't get much cooler (or more ridiculous) than that.
Word is that McQueen's not-terribly-successful actor son Chad will produce the remake.

I don't know about Statham or Willis. McQueen played that role very low-key, except for the airport terminal scene with Chalmers ("You can sell anything you want, just don't sell it here.")
While I enjoy these two onscreen, I think the new Bullit needs to be someone just as low key. They seem a bit too intense.
Here's a suggestion out of left field - how about Kurt Russell?
