If you own a MAC IMovie it's ez to use and you'll be surprised by your results. PC maybe Video Vegas ask TacoBill on this program? I'm more of a MAC-head. As you get better at editing in a MAC world you can move up to Final Cut Express and maybe eventually Final Cut Pro.

On a side note check out CNET.com and check for software there you might find a free app to do the basics if that's all you need.

Have you checked Cosco and Sam's Club I'm seen some software app's there for $50.00 bones or so for the PC. I use MAC and love it! Here's a little vid made in IMovie I turned it around in a few days so I didn't add any effects timelyness was more important then style for this project...

Windows Live Movie Maker is quick, easily understood, if a bit short in the effects, titles, and such... but for a Q&D clipping of unwanted middle stuff, it's very easy to use. Oh, and free.

But you gotta be XP or above. Vista works pretty well with it, I can attest.

/been dealin' with it a lot lately... in house ad projectors.
//Geek in me likes it.
///realist in me isn't sold on it.
////worker in me is a little tired of it already.
