Best street drag radial?
Hey there,
Well it's that time of year again to start driving my 88' again.
I've got an 88 GT with a 347 stroker on nitrous.
I had put some "cheaper" rubber on the rear last year and I can't hook up through the first 3 gears. And that's without spray.
What is your guy's preference for the best street drag radial?
I'm looking for a tire purely for street that hooks up well without needing a burnout.
A few guys have told me the Nitto 555R is probably the best for what I want.
Please help me out as it feels like such a waste of motor right now.
Thanks.

I think I have it narrowed down to either the M/T street drag or the Nitto 555R. Although it is pricier I might settle for the Nitoos as they will last longer street driving.
Any response is appreciated.

Nitto D/R's will last longer on the street, but they aren't as sticky. I've been using BFG D/R's on my last few Mustangs with excellent results at the track (very sticky), with about a 5-6K mile life on the street. I'd rather have better traction & less life expectancy.
