I wish I had a 6th, and I only have the 3.55s! I'd love to have the ridiculous overdrive of a 6sp Corvette, where you're turning maybe 1800rpm on the highway at 80mph. No acceleration at all, but that's what downshifting is for.

My 06 Audi S4 has a 6 speed, and I still turn 2500rpm at 75mph. Too hectic, I think. Big torquey V8s can handle the lower revs.

Is the 2011 6speed geared like that as well, or is it a big time overdrive? I personally think that's the only reason to have 6 gears, other than top speed.

The few highways here in Hawaii have varying and steep grades. Even though the speed limit is 60 at about 65 the car is really struggling to maintain speed on the climb.

Playing with the instant mpg meter there appears to be times where 4th is better mpgs then 5th depending on speed and grade.
