Analyst predicts plunge in gas prices

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...nsumers14.html

WASHINGTON — The recent sharp drop in the global price of crude oil could mark the start of a massive sell-off that returns gasoline prices to lows not seen since the late 1990s — perhaps as low as $1.15 a gallon
Could be good times for Mustangs!

Maybe on the East coast but here on the west coast we always get the shaft. I'd say we pay between 15-25 cents more than you guys at any given time. Yes prices have dropped here to but never as much as you guys. It seems like no matter what we'll never be as low or lower than you.

I think Stark County, Ohio has the cheapest gas prices in the Country. I filled up for $2.10 the other day, and it's been as low as $1.99 in the area. Not too bad considering how bad it was. I just hope the trend continues.

Upon examining the article further, that low price would only be short-lived along with the prospect of "1999-level" gas prices returning. IMO, oil companies know that consumers will pay high prices despite all the grumbling and find ways to minimize any expected price drop. OPEC would definitely cut production as well. Just hope this doesn't spark a mass return to fuel-swilling trucks and SUV's which are fine for hauling/towing/work, but makes no sense otherwise as a single-occupant personal vehicle.

Hey TacoBill, there are a couple of baboozes on the radio who claim they will picket (gas stations?) if the prices here on Oahu don't drop to 30 cents more than mainland prices after 6 weeks from Tuesday (9/12). No can, cuz!

Haha! I day hopped over to Oahu (from the Big Island) and noticed that the gas is a bit cheaper there compared to stations in Waimea and Kona.

Lemme tell you, the traffic on H1 and H2 is unreal!
Took me almost an hour to get from Diamond Head up to the 99 to the Dole Plantation!

Stay away from h1 and h2 everyone is on there. One hour is not bad actually. Remember you can't bring the stang with you and speed during vacation.
suppose to be relaxing and enjoying - its not the mainland.

That's a great price!
I just paid $2.79 this morning at Mobil (87 Reg for my Taco); cheapest around my area besides the 'El Cheapo' gas stations.

Ha ha! If you've ever been stuck on H1 trying to get into or out of town, that's where most of the gas goes - crawling in stop-and-go traffic. Even weekends are like that now. My relatives say Maui is getting there as well . You don't even want to know how much gas goes for on Lana'i since there is only one gas station on that island. I do use "TheBus" sometimes since I no longer have a car (currently looking for another one). My regular means of transportation? I get da black rubbah slippaz! No can go wrong. Still, might need an alarm because they've been ripped off a few times while I was out surfing. Those are the 1.99 specials too. I guess there are people more "Pake" than me (don't mean to offend anyone out there!) Yeah, people still cruise Waikiki, don't think that'll really go away anytime soon. Anyways, it's Aloha Friday, no work till Monday...

Funny!

I (and my niece) picked up several "Local" slippas to take home, massage kind, that were on sale at Long's Drug for $1.99!

Great price and comfortable, can't beat it!

Yeah, it's still in the $2.79 range here in LV. Hoping it goes down soon though.

Is 30 years too long to say I'm a former Makakilo boy?
Last time I drove H1 I was on my step-dad's Harley, with him running a video camera on the back. But even that was 14 years ago.

I don't think it's any surprise that NY and CA have some of the highest gas prices... could it be special blends to meet environmental regulations?
