99 mustang help

I have a 99 mustang v6, a couple weeks ago a clinking sound started coming from my engine, sounds like metal clinging. It only happens when I'm accelerating at regular speed, put it in neutral and nothing happens, sounds fine. Happens after engine warms up and driving down the road.

Checked oil and oil filter fine, exhaust is tight, nothing loose, transmission oil is fine to, can't seem to figure out what is wrong. Any help?

Are you sure its coming from your motor? You might need to adjust your valves, they could be coming in contact with the piston.

I would check your rear as well however.
