I've never really noticed it before, but the 2005 GT-R concept's headlights look very similiar to the split opening on the 70 model, except the headlights are actually behind the opening. I was wondering where they got that from.

the 429's big hood scoop seems to fit the '69 better

I'd go with a Calypso Coral '70. My uncle had one when I was little, so it brings back a lot of good memories. Plus, '70 was the best year for the Boss, I think....a lot of Trans Am wins.

The grille and headlights arrangement would be the deciding factor for me. Although I would not refuse a '70. I could sacrifice and make an effort to live with it. 0:-)

I had a 70 Boss 302 and I loved that car. I sold it in the 80's for far to less than I should have. But I liked the grille in the 70 model. The tail light were also inset in the 70. In 69 they protuded.

!969! (It was my first car!) Here is a pic of a 69 I just finished rubbing out and installing the stripes! I have first shot at buying it when he gets ready to sell it! The blue car is a 500 KR conv. Mark

I like them both but the 70 had more appeal to me since its got a shaker.
As far as I know only the 69 had the scoops the same color of the car and 70s were black.
Did all 1970 Boss 429s have the scoop blacked out or did some have the scoop painted body color like in 1969?
