1995 mustang GT help/repair. Shaking

My teenage daughters 1995 began shaking badly. Took it to two mechanics. First one said cylinder one had a low compression and would repair it for 2000.00 yikes! Second mechanic said the harmonic balancer needed replacing 400.00. Has anyone out there had similar issues with older mustang? Please advise.

Try this section linked above^. Also provide more info, like mileage, condition of the car, etc...
I will note that putting $2,000 into a nearly 20 year old Mustang would generally not be a wise move unless the car was in outstanding condition with low miles, or had personal sentimental value.
