^ Cool. I'm a Tuskegee Airman.
But only by the loosest of definitions. In '06 my C-130 unit was assigned to Balad Air Base, Iraq, where the senior unit at the base was the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing Red Tails, direct descendant of the Tuskegee Airmen. The wing commander welcomed our cargo planes to his fighter wing, told us all that since we were flying from their base that made us all Tuskegee Airmen, and gave us all unit patches to wear on our flight suits. I still have mine. So I can say I'm a Tuskegee Airman.
But I would never say I'm one of the Tuskegee Airmen. Those guys are legends. Huge respect for them.
