09 GT500KR

Hello all. I don't own a Mustang yet but have been considering buying one. I am looking at a couple of different 09's and am wondering what you guys would think is a fair price for this model without being bent over by the dealer.

My local dealer has an all black model and his price is 82K. Is this a normal price for this car or has he added quite a bit for the model?

I also found a great looking blue one but have not called the dealer to see what he want's for it yet.

Here's a picture of the blue one.

thats the normal price of a GT500KR. no mark ups nor discounts of any kind. im sure its possible to negociate a price below MSRP though. the last KR i saw down here sold for about 64k i believe.

I would say that if you are paying over $60k, you're paying too much.

If you buy a KR, for the love of god don't wreck it. Then Shelby himself will bend you over backwards for replacement parts

I saw that one on ebay. The guy isn't very good about taking pictures to sell it. I'm also curious as to why it has 219 miles on it.

A wreck is never planned.

I heard the hoods are made form carbon fiber and are close to 7K to replace.

After looking at some more I found a 2010 Mustang, same color, except it is just the GT500. I think that I like the 09 body style better. The front hood on the 09 just looks more like the older model Mustangs.

Can one of you guys tell me, other than the Carroll Shelby signature, what is the difference between a GT500 and a GT500KR?

the GT500KR is fitted with 3.73s gear ratio, carbon composite hood and front splitter, ford racing CAI, ford racing FR500S mufflers, short throw shifter, 40th anniversary badging, and the rest are appearance touch ups. all somehow totaling a bit over 30k over the price of a standard GT500.

Thanks Red Jay. The more I think about it a plain GT500 would probably suit my purpose more as I would want to drive it. Racking up miles on a KR would be foolish.

I actually like the look of the 09 better than the 10 or the 11. To me the hood is much nicer looking on the 09's.
