We are trying to give as much of a warning as possible on this. We will be bringing the forums down starting around 9pm CST on Saturday, April 29th.
The reason for this is because we are changing forum software completely. The current software we are running has been good for us in the past years, but I think we've found its limitation. Due to the size of the forum and amount of users, we are swapping over to VBulletin, which is a highly used and very stable software application, that also puts alot less of a load on the server.
This migration will take all night and into Sunday. Hopefully we will have everything completed by Sunday afternoon. The VB Team will be working with us to tweak the software and server to ensure stability and the fastest speeds possible.
Also I wanted to note that none of the current data will be lost and will be imported into the new software.
Thanks for bearing with us through the recent problems, we feel this is the right step for the site in the long run.
Any questions you wish to ask, please feel free.
Thanks again,
Brad, Scott & Staff

Guys, forums take quite a while to setup.
Just be patient. The admin staff here works extremely quickly, so i'm guessing that they'll have everything looking right within the next few days.
This is the default vB format. They'll probably add the skin(s), change the layout of the posts and the menu.
The avatar, profile pic, etc. sizes will also probably be adjusted.
Everything has to be adjusted manually. You guys would be suprised at how complex the admincp is for forums (especially invision and vB)
I'm extremely suprised that they transitioned so well.
I am wanting one thing...the thread by 05stangkc for the new 3D Carbon wing.
