It's very hard at times to find threads. Especially if, say a post about painting brake calipers in a thread in the > 2005+ Mustang > Modifications > Exterior Mods deviates to a discussion about the technical aspects of '05 brakes. Should that thread then be moved to 2005+ Mustang > S197 GT Tech & Performance.

If I have a thought about that thread a few days later that I'd like to post, I can't remember if it was in the Exterior Mods category or the S197 GT Tech & Performance category

The difference between these catgories is seriously in question:

> 2005+ Mustang > High-Performance 2005+ Mustangs
> 2005+ Mustang > S197 GT Tech & Performance

Those categories, among others, could easily be consolidated into one...consolidation would make the board more tidy and organized.

And why have a category entitled 'GT Performance Mods' under 'Modifications' that merely links back to 'S197 GT Tech & Performance'???

Besides confusion, this ridiculous hierarchy leads to threads being moved around and re-categorized because the powers that be deem them to be off topic.

For a board that for the most port concerns itself with the generations of only 1 car...it's a dog's breakfast as it is now.

Of all the boards I frequent...I've never seen one so segmented and partitioned as this one.

I tried to make this point earlier when there was the merge..

Some members liked it all in one place... then some members comlained, and wanted it sectioned out, and there was a poll. Brad appeased the majority, and re-sectioned the sections.

Yet, here we go again with people being unhappy.

Jack, I am sorry you dont like it the way it is. Unfortunately with over 8000 members on this site, it is EXTREMELY diffcicult to make everyone happy, so we must go with the majority.

As for moving threads, well, there wouldnt be much sense in having different sections, (as the majority asked for) if we didnt keep topics in the sections as outlined, would there?

My Avatar has been jacked by the board moderators

Can somebody tell me why?

The avatar was *tasteful* and *playful*.

I find it hard to believe that anybody could find anything offensive in it.

I didn't see it but apparently somebody found it objectionable.

I would suggest rather than complaining about EVERYTHING as it seems here...that maybe you try to provide positive suggestions while at the same time understanding that this is not Burger King so each and every person cannot "have it your way".

If you want something to complain about....go to this site: http://www.extreme-stangs.com .....Not only will the background give you headaches, there is something like 80 sub-forums. Spend a little time there and I bet you won't complain much about how this site is set up.

Seriously, people are donating their free time(and sometimes not free time) to make this a place everyone can enjoy. You don't pay a subscription fee and probably couldn't afford the bill if everyone who helped put this site together charged by the hour. If you have a positive suggestion, present it and it will be considered.......but don't just constantly complain about everything.

I did provide positive suggestions regarding the overly complex navigation of the site: consolidation of similar topics.

There's no reason why 80+% of the forums can't be consolidated to maybe a dozen different forums. The more members in any given forum in any given time...the more dynamic those forums are.

At ~8000 members, this is a medium traffic site compared to others. I can almost hear crickets chirping in half the fourms on this site.

And yes, membership is free. But do you not get ad revenue? Or are you in the habit of allowing 3rd party banners on your site for free.

I know what my eyeballs are worth to any site. More than you let on.

Have you ever run a site like this? If so, examples please....

I don't get a dime, penny, nickel or even gratuitous pocket lint for my time spent helping out here....and neither does any other Moderator. As far as Ad revenue...sure there is money paid to Brad(owner) but bandwidth is not free last I checked and this site eats up a lot of it. You seem to come across as though everyone here is making money and there are no costs involved in running a website like this....I suggest you check into reality when it comes to that area.

Did you miss the part that the changes were voted upon? or is the majority supposed to be tossed out because "Jack" didn't like the end results....seriously, your attitude displayed here is poor at best and if you expect anyone to take you seriously just remember that honey attracts flies and vinegar does not.

I don't run sites like this. I build them. And if you consider my contributions to some open source software...then you can take yahoo.com, which runs on freeBSD, as one site on requested list.

Anyway, back to the topic:

Perhaps if the moderators weren't sooooo busy shifting posts around between forums...the site wouldn't be such a burden for them to manage.

Yeah, the changes were voted on...that's great. I'm all for the democratic process.

But now that some time has elapsed since the vote...I just happen to think the experiment isn't working out. Which is fine...nothing wrong with learning and re-tooling.

I think you've missed my points entirely....you continue to be arguementative and have a poor attitude. Every post you have made in this thread has been a complaint....everything you have posted has been negative and you continue to argue everything giving the impression that nobody can be right and the only way is your way. You've come back with assumptions which were wrong and have nothing to offer but arguing.

Again, you have failed to let the point sink in I was making.
