Just wondering why we have this smiley here when we pride ourselves on being a community above typical internet boards.

Don't get me wrong, I really don't care too much- but seems kind of contradictory to new members who we advise against using certain acronyms.

I am with you as I am one of those new members that didn't realize how offensive I was when I used those acronyms. :/
(It mainly was an inside joke between all of us and wasn't meant to start anything)
But I do think that's a little contradicting.

I thought that smiley had been removed honestly.
edit: and now it has. I remember removing it once, maybe the last crash it got recovered when the database was restored or something.

Seems like the last few months has had more tightening up than the previous years ever had. 
The stfu smiley was for those times when the joke was meant in good humor - and taken that way - without actually saying the words. And honestly, I have never seen it used in an aggressive, offensive way.
I appreciate the level of civility on tms, but if I wanted a church forum - or a child's forum - I'd sign on to one. IMO

Is it really appropriate to have a
smiley then Scothew. Or how about the
