Just a real quick idea that popped into my head- it may or may not fly

I noticed how a lot of people post their mods in the appropriate section and sometimes even post a lot of pictures and even a write-up.

Well what if each member had a "My Mods" section- almost like a gallery- you click on that member's "my mods" and you are taken to a page which they can lists their mods on and when you click on one you are taken to the topic or page that has the pics, write-up, opinion, experience, etc. All in one spot

I guess it would almost be as if each car had its own little mini-site- Almost like what Brad did with the project source horse

Of course, now that I think about it, it would probably take a lot of time and effort to implement this... but it was just a late-night light bulb going off- I wish I could put it into words more effectively, maybe I'll do a photoshop or something when I get a chance

In the meantime, just take it as food for thought

 

I know some Vbulliten boards have a Garage feature that works very much in the way you describe. I've searched before and found one for this site, but it wasnt as feature packed as some others i've seen. I'll take a look again and see if anything new has come out, since I like the idea as well

 

It would be cool but might suck up a bunch of server space. I would defintily use it a ton though.

 

Yeah there is alot of options we would have to look into with adding something of that magnitude. Our dedicated server should be able to handle the load though

 

or just have them make a blog like I did. The thing that will be hard is to get members to post pics of their cars just in that one section. I don't think that will happen.

 

Yeah, something similar to a my garage page or adrenalin's blog, only saving you the trouble of having to post it as a topic

It would also help shorten signature's b/c people could list their mods in the section instead. And instead of having to dig up old topics to show off their pics they could have them all in one place and just link right to the page, etc, etc

 

can the TMS gallery hold messages also? That could be a good base for this.

Most people, including you Autotooner, have a link to their Mustang in their signature that leads to a different site that have something like the page I'm suggesting. Why not keep it all in TheMustangSource?

That's the idea behind it

"My mod" are(in alphabetic order) Brad, Chuck, Doug, Scott and the rest of the TMS team...
