Mustang Source is security risks on McAfee Site Advisor

McAfee Site Advisor turns red in color and warns that it found security risks with the Mustang Source forums site. I opened the detail window of the advisor to see what the problem was, and it looks like it's just links to questionable sites.

I'll note here that I've never had a single problem that I know of from visiting this site over the past 5 years.

Anyway, just suggesting someone look into it and see if it's possible to make the red flag go away when logging onto the forums here.

Thanks!

I'm getting the alert on one of my computers. Says it has something to do with bradbarnett.net. I wonder if it has something to do with the hacking last september.

Don't know if that can be done unless McAfee would tell you why it's red. I looked at McAfee's SiteAdvisor web site and couldn't make a determination what here at TMS would trigger it either. In fact, the only reason I could determine is TMS.com is associated with bradbarnett.net and that domain had some files it could download (which it said were legitimate). I plugged in TMS and bradbarnett into their website for the results.

Sounds like a false positive.

McAfee annoys me. I agree with Sendero.. false positive. Sounds like since the sites are verified safe using McAfee software, that they are throwing up flags or something.

Yes, it's confusing - the site report says the link to bradbarnett.net is the problem. And when you go to bradbarnett.net, it's showing as a risk because it points to mustangsource.com! Like a circular problem...

Like I said, I'm not worried about it. But the weird thing is that it's not like McAfee is throwing false positives left and right. I have hundreds of websites bookmarked and do my share of spontaneous surfing, and rarely run into sites flagged as security risks.

I use AVG and don't have any security issues. Although the site was dead for most of the day for me. Seems like about once a month...

For the last few days I tried to connect but was unable too. It seems like the sever isn't there yet if I do a Google search i can find it but not connect to it. Then the old test the connection pops up and for the most part no go. I was lucky tonight i got through.

I had a really hard time getting on last night too, and I very rarely ever have issues. It kept saying server unavailable on both FF and IE.

That happens from time to time for me too. I'm concerned if someone like me that has McAfee security, and searching for a Mustang forum. They will see all this 'red' and 'red X' warnings about being a security risk, it could hurt the posibility of new members. If i wasn't already a member, i would be afraid to click on to view 'The Mustang Source' web site.

Guys, I submitted a service request via their SiteAdvisor website on the 21st of February. According to their FAQ's they were supposed to contact me in one business day then spend five business days evaluating the site. Well, that time has come and gone without one word from McAfee or their SiteAdvisor team. I can't spend too much time yelling in the dark...

I'd suggest you all uninstall anything to do with McAfee anyway. But, that is just my non-TMS associated professional opinion.

I'm not using Mc Afee but AVG. The site didn't even show up for those few days just as a internet connection problem.

Mayhaps a hackin about?
