Maybe It Crashes Tomorrow. The Old Layout Was Better

 

Really don't understand what is so different.

You know what they say, " Nobody likes change ". But we learn to adapt and find out that change is a good thing. The continued improving of technology is getting better every day. Before computers, we had to go to the library to look things up in an encyclopedia or other means. Today, at the touch of a button, we can communicate worldwide without leaving the comfort of our homes. JMO

 

Vbulletin> any other form of message board. I am darn glad TMS is finally Vbulletin!

 

I like it! Just stay here! I don't wanna post stuff and have it lost!

 

Give it a chance...I like it much better so far....

 

It's not as purdy, but functionality and reliability will be the test.

 

We're tweaking out the function and reliability as we speak. When discussing the upgrade plan there were two options:

• Keep the forum offline for a week and tweak every itsy tiny weenie feature we could find or....
• Turn it back on and tweak as we go

Give it some time and the beauty will come back. Brad is working on this as we speak. But right now Functionaliy > Form, big time. vBulletin is infinately more adjustable in the skin/layout/visual department.

Just be patient people, it will come.

 

I could not help to notice that today I was at StangsUnleashed and that it looks just like it was here before and was so easy to navigate around ? I know in time most members will pick it up but, but also remember that the admins do these things for reasons even that sometimes we Do Not need to know or get caught up in it all . Just think of all the work they do to get it all functional and Such. Thank-You Brad & Crew

I have to agree with elvism.

I like the old layout much better, plus how many times does this site go down? I lost count. And it sux because I make posts on here and they end up getting lost or deleted. Kinda waste of effort to post something and have it get deleted. I know computers and servers have their problems and there is better technology and upgrading capabilities, but as much as this forum and the number of times it goes down? Not trying to bash here, but get it fixed.

 

My issue is the bbcode does not translate into the color/style and makes posts really dificult to read-I have set all my options to allow IMG, avatars. etc. will this be fixed?

 

Yes harder to read the postings etc. Not very EYE freindly. Love the Source, but dont like the new skin. sorry

 

You should only have to set it once as outlined in the Announcement at the top. Once you set have them set, it should stay globally.

How much information are you missing? I had a discussion with another gentlemen that believed we lost everything from April of this year to the beginning of the boards, this is untrue. At most we lost 20 days of information in some subforums and only two weeks in others. Make sure you have your "Show Posts" set to the beginning or else you won't see but maybe a months worth of information!

 

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who is working to make the site better. I know folks find change unsettling, but I am confident you have good reasons for making the switch.

I agree also. Lots of posts for me are showing up with img tags and smilies aren't working properly. Signatures are the same way. Some show just fine. others don't. Is this due to the BBCode or something of the old forums, vs (whatever this forum uses)?

This is highly annoying, hope it gets fixed soon.
