Which forum gets the most traffic

It used to be Brad's photos of Mustang Babes. I guess those days are gone forever. But now there are too many forums and sub forums. I just want to post in the one that gets the most traffic. WHich one is that?

Just post in the appropriate section. I think it's pretty intuitive...

If you use the "new post" feature you will get the visibility on your thread. I rarely go straight into any forums anymore. Rather, I click new posts and then click on the ones that sound interesting or ones that I have previously posted in.

You can cover alot more ground faster with the "new post" feature.

There's not enough hours in the day to click back and forth between all the subforums. Just hit the new post link to read, and spread the word about it. As more people use it, the more activity all the forums will have. Even with that feature, it's still annoying when stuff is in the wrong forum, so just put it in the best one - that way you'll get the best answers.

Forgot to mention that when you read all the new posts (I usually hit the "new posts" a few times due to new posts being posted while I'm catching up), then go to quick links and click "Mark forums read"

This will clean the slate and start you over again. Then when you hit "new posts" again, all posts that have been added since you hit "Mark Forums read" will appear.

Actually, the New Post feature is the only reason I'm reading this thread!

From what's been said, everyone is trying to find some way to get around all the forums and subforums and just read what's been posted. 'There aren't enough hours in the day'.
It seems to me that makes a good argument for reducing the number of forums and just posting in a few. Maybe I'm not **** enough to appreciate the logic.

We have asked for members' suggestions on the forum structure several times in the past. For the most part, the current structure is based on that feedback. We think the current structure is the most effective for categorizing the information.

I disagree. It's very easy to quickly skim through several pages of new posts. I don't read every thread, just the ones that sound interesting to me. It's a very effective way of information management.
If every post was in only a few forums, there still 'aren't enough hours in the day'. It's the same amount of posts, just rearranged.

I like the new post feature also.

Dare I suggest putting the date the thread originated with the post?

The current structure works just fine, but it only works if either -

1) You only want to visit a certain forum - ie, GT Performance/Tech,
or
2) You use the New Post feature.

Otherwise, yes, it's way too congested and divided. I hated it until I started using New Post.

The other problem is sections like GT/CS, where people who own one only post in that section regardless if it's a specific CS issue, or a general issue that should be in Tech, Mods, Care, etc... There's a lot of people who could help answer their questions that don't own a CS, so don't visit the forum.

Oh well, even though I use the new post feature, for some reason I still get irritated when things aren't in the right section... guess my OCD isn't just for Mustangs.

My posts and their follow ups never show up when I use the 'new posts' feature. I only see posts and forums I didn't post in.

It'll show 'new posts' since your last visit, or the last time you clicked 'mark forums read' and return to menu.
