Thumbs up

Just an idea, what do ya think?
Members of TMS would get to vote, and then at the beginning of the month TMS would feature that members stang and a little about that person on TMS........

Yeah. The first one should be Brad's Tungsten GT convertible.

I think it would be a great idea and each one featured in a closed anouncement thread but there are so many great cars here it would be hard to choose only one once a month.

I agree. There could be like 10 per month.
Brad used to have a section on the main page that profiled a TMSer and his/her stang. It would be nice to see a section that did maybe 10 members a month.

And/Or

A section that had every member who could enter their own info.

A picture of the member with car(s)
Where they were from.
Personal info if they so choose. Occupation, hobbies, age, etc.
How they got into mustangs
what influenced them to get the mustang.
blah, blah, blah.

I'd second that - and then there could be a vote for those perhaps, (formal or informal) for car/owner of the month, then at the end of the year, car of the year?

Who would pick up the tab for additional space and associated fees TMS might be faced with?

You've got deep pockets, don't you George?

Super idea, a lot of other unrelated sites have something similar to this going on. I wouls suggest keeping it to one mustang a month. We could submit photos and the mods of this board could decide who gets picked for the month. Then at the end of the year all TMS members could vote on the car of the year. Just a thought.

A while back a thread, similar to this one was started asking what members thought the top 3 cars were on the site. Fortunately for me, my car was in the top 3 However, to maintain a "Car of the month" is not as easy as it sounds, although a great idea.

It's TMS's pockets that should be addressed. This would be nothing more than a car show and people do pay money to enter car shows. If there is money for cars, mods, computers, DSL, and digital cameras, a few bucks would not hurt that much.

I agreed with Jerrod. Instead of voting we have a
nomentations thread and then
the moderators pick one and showcase it.

Problem with this is that all the modded cars will get nominated and voted for.
Where does that leave the "all" stock cars?

I suggested this a long time ago, look at what we've proposed also, no plan of action has pursued yet though.

Good point but you could still nominate stock cars. I think the purpose would be the car of the month would be whichever car got the most nominations, stock or not.

we still know where that's going to end up - rarely if ever will a stock car out-vote a modded car. you could have two categories every month, but that's probably too much trouble then it's worth

i still like the idea tho

yes that would be rare, but how often would 1 stock car beat out another stock car. If they are identical, how can one be considered better than the other

I think we should have a stock MOTM and a modded MOTM.

The winners should not be most popular, but most accomplished within the month. Whether it is someone reaching 400rwhp N/A, or breaking into 11's, or finishing up that custom paint job.

The stock MOTM, should be the member most active, maybe has the best picture of their car.

Just some ideas.

There is always the approach of randomly choosing a Team Mustang Source member for Car of the Month. No voting, just a randomly generated pick.

This would only allow the people who have becoming paying members to be eligable for Car of the Month and also level the playing field as it is a random pick.

Just my 2 cents.
