At 729 threads, this board has exploded is size, making for many redundant threads. I propose creating topic catagories to help help cut down this problem.

After reading the topic titles, I propose these catagories:

Ordering, Pricing, Financing & Production Build
Engine
Interior
Exterior, including paint color
Audio
Hood Scoop
Hardware
Software and Screensavers
Articles, PR, and Media (TV, movies, radio, etc.)
Rants and Thanks
Licensing and VIN
Shows, Tours & Events
Performance (1/4 mile, MPG, etc.)
Tires & Wheels
Accessories
Hood Scoop & Spolier
Modifiers (Shelby, et al) Modifications, Aftermarket
Transmission, Axle and Differential
Competitors to 2005 Mustang
Brakes
Steering & Suspension
Spy Photos
Electrical (lights, wiring, etc.)

Others as necessary. To keep it consistent, the moderators should move threads as needed.

Whadda think?

Only problem is that there would be a lot of forums to check that way. The FAQ thread should answer redundant questions before a post is made. People are encouraged to add to the FAQ when they feel that a topic is continuously brought up.

Basically I'm proposing the same approach is the Photoshop Requests handling of threads.

I shortened the list, but as Dan said, it still makes for a lot of places to look.
  • Ordering, Pricing, Financing & Production Build
  • Engine & Drivetrain
  • Interior & Audio
  • Exterior
  • Announcements, Articles, & Photos
  • Shows, Tours, & Events
  • Performance (1/4 mile, MPG, etc.)
  • Suspension, Wheels, & Tires
  • Tuners & The Aftermarket

Maybe once we have more concrete info on the '05 would this be a benefit.

I suggest the creation of two or three additional threads. One that handles pricing, availability and press realeases and one that talks about Mustang attributes(tire size, hood scoops, engine, etc).

I'm sorry, but the current structure handles this issue. Pricing and availability would be addressed in Ordering, Pricing, Finciang, & Production Build Catageory and Attributes would be handled in the existing catagories of Wheels & Tires, Exterior, etc.

Thanks for taking the time to make this suggestion.

Isn't a thread about redundant threads being redundant is inherently redundant?

I think catagories is a great idea. The worry about having to search too many areas is somewhat valid though. For the most part I think it would work better because the majority of the people on this board have already read every thread and know where everything is. The other thing that would help it work is the "new posts in the last 24 hours" feature. There are also new in the last 48 and even 72 hours I think.

I think commenting on how a comment commenting on how a thread about redundant threads is redundant is...oh, nevermind. :bang:

cheers!

Good idea, by the way, Stinky.

I don't see the big deal with having topics revisited. There are new people coming on this board daily. I am sure they want to give their 2 cents too!!

The good topics are limited anyway, due to the lack of info and because none of us own the car!!

There is still more questions then answers when it comes to the 2005 Mustang!

I totally agree...

In a lot of ways we have run out of things to talk about. Every nook and cranny of the car has been discussed in depth. There will be plenty of things to talk about over the next few months.

I really aggree that new people are joining all the time and might post topics that have gone before by accident......

Also, If you refresh the page at least once every 20 minutes during a work day, you never get overwhelmed.....

Oh the times when at 4am your time, I have been the ONLY member on the board. It gets lonely kicking around on your own.............

Keep it going like it is...Chaos rules, and makes for some interesting topics. Me thinks we should seperate it once the '05 hits the streets...

I could go along with that.

It definitely is harder now that there hasn't been any big news for a while. Seems people are stretching for things to talk about (myself included).

Ahh...the calm before the storm...

no more redundant then quoting the post about its redundancy.
