come on mods -- chill out
In the past month the forum has become *very* regimented, with an unnatural proliferation of moved posts, and locked posts. A forum is a conversation not an encyclopedia. I am troubled seeing members post questions only to be admonished to use the search button. If I want to use a search button I will go to Google, thank you very much. I appreciate the eclectic mix of subjects on the main 2005+ board, and I am personally not interested in visiting each specific board to gain a variety of post subjects. I am especially troubled by 51bullit's post asking two technical questions: In short order Adrenalin sternly locked the post after telling the member to use the search feature. Then he followed it with a smiley! Suggesting that "slap, slap, rudeness" followed by a hearty thumbs up makes everything okay.
Bam! How's that for a first post.
[sarcasm in smiley intended]

It seems to me that Adrenalin is not rude when someone starts a thread on something already extensively covered. In fact, he usually posts a link to the subject to help the person out.
Kind of a rude first post on your behalf if you ask me.

Yes, you have a point. But it's posts like this that cause the mods to act that way. Wrong area, already covered, and... 1st post??? Besides, it's been getting better that it was at it's recent low point. Congratulations though, you've found a great site. Hopefully you'll contribute a little more on your next post.
Edit: Welcome Jesse.
(Sorry, I forgot to add that) - No sarcasm intended.
What are your future plans w/ a Mustang? I see you currently have a Camry. If you want Mustang info, you've came to the right spot.

Jesse,
First welcome to the forums. I find your first post quite interesting. I think the MOD's should take notice here. This is his first post and his first impression of the forums and it's not positive.

When I go to the "Interior and Audio Mod" area, and also the "Other Mods" area, I hardly see any activity at all now. Perhaps it is just a misconception on my part, but it seems like participation is way down all over the TMS 2005+ Mustang forums. Am I wrong? Maybe the topics have all been covered and there's no need to post anymore... Just use the search function, and you can get your question answered without needing to post.
It might be efficient, but it isn't much fun.

I always welcome feedback on this site. Of course I prefer the positive kind, but the negative feedback only makes this site better. I'd like to thank Spinners for posting his thoughts.
I have attached a screen shot to this post of our topic views since we started the forums so that you can see how many more views, and hence posts, that the 2005+ section gets over the rest of the site. If left unmoderated and unorganized, it would be difficult for our users to find information they're looking for. I have asked the moderators to move any and all posts to their appropriate category to facilitate this organization, especially since just last week I completely rearranged the 2005+ Mustang subforums. Please don't give the moderators a hard time about it--they're only doing what I've asked them to do. They don't get paid for the work they do keeping these the best Mustang forums on the planet, and it's not an easy task.
Once again, I welcome all feedback on the site since your satisfaction is far more important than my own.
And please keep the chain of command in mind:

And please keep the chain of command in mind:
- If you have a problem with a member, contact a moderator. If the moderator cannot help, contact a super moderator. The super mods can contact the admins if they need assistance.
- If you have a problem with a moderator or super moderator, contact and admin.
- Use the Testing, Help, Site Feedback & Suggestions section of the forums.
- For major issues, please email or PM me.
I stand by my assertion that a good forum is a conversation not an encyclopedia.
None-the-less, Brad's points are well taken. The chart is eye-popping, not to mention convincing.
I personally will endeavor to make better use of the search and organization tabs. I cannot claim to be a reasonable person if I refuse to be pursuaded by wise arguements, thus I agree with the need to move topics. It is likely that as we settle in, it will become routine. I will also remember the chain of command. I still feel that locking is awfully strong medicine. And I still feel the response to the 51bullit post was not the finest hour of TMS treatment of a newbie.
Also, 05GT-O.C.D. and icemant180, thank you for the kind welcome words. I like the signature, icemant180.

In regards to locking, Jesse, you point is noted and it has been discussed previously. Posts will not be locked unless it is absolutely necessary (in the case of a topic of members just arguing, etc etc).
Thanks
Thanks
i really dont think there is a problem. imo, the mods have been doing a great job of keeping this place running smoothely. and i've never seen a mod get rude unless someones really being an ****, and even then, its deserved...
