Young but love the classics... rear driver tire squeaks...
Im 27, female, live in Texas hill country, single mom ( I know I rock as a mom... most have SUVs I have a stang) I have a 1966 mustang, 200, 6 cyl, automatic, coupe, stock, single barrel carb. 45k+ original miles. Venom red with white shelby stripes, solid black inter.
Came to the forum for an answer....
cpl weeks ago I took my baby in to be inspected, and they drove her up on the car lift where her rear driver tire was half off... afterwards it started making a squeaking noise, mostly on uneven road. Now it is all the time, its a repetitive squeak as the tire turns, when you hear the squeak you feel a slight pull, like a gov. kicking in.
Called my grandpa and explained he suggested it might be a knot on the tire making the noise when it rubs or a bearing going out. Wanted alil info before I took her into the shop. I live in a small town and have only found ONE shop that will work on my car. And the guy ended up charging me $350 to replace the little box that sits on top but to the side of a single barrel carb that attaches with 2 screws and the tube that goes from the carb to the man. which came off a stock donor carb I supplied. He said it was hot start problems. Any thoughts on the squeak???? worried its doing more damage to my bay then to my nerves.

Welcome!!!
As far as the squeak, my first thought is that they messed up the brakes during the inspection or didn't look at them at all.
Years ago, I had a garage pull the drum for inspection and I squeaked all the way home. I had to pull the drum and put the brake assembly back the way it was before they "inspected" it.
If by "her tire" you the wheel was half off then if they just tightened down the wheel without looking at the brakes, the shoes may have been hitting on the wrong part of the drum until the wheel was tightened. Uneven wear on the shoe and drum can cause the squeak.
.
The "little box" should be a half hour of labor to replace.
Tell the mechanic to kiss you before the next time he works on your car.
(You know the joke I am hinting at...)
Usually they replace that for a cold start problem (but not always).
