Thanks for all the comments. I never thought this culmination would take place.
By the way, the exhaust note on this thing is KILLER! Even with the top up there is this low, throbbing roar in the background.
Already had a guy in a red Camaro SS want to race. Now, I am certainly not one to turn down a race, but we were in a busy, quasi-residential area KCMO (Wornall & Gregory for you Kansas Citians), so I thought better of it. I imagine it would have been a good race, depending primarily on the drivers, but the SS has 315 hp and less weight, right?
EDIT: ...and to those of you who have posted that you can't get it to squeel or spin the tires, there has to be something wrong with your car (or driving). I had to test it out....not a problem at all.

Okay...I am going to be a lunatic about this car. I don't even really like people riding in it b/c I am afraid they will mess something up. Also, I have told my girlfriend to watch out for her rings when she opens the door as not to nick the paint around the door handle.
A couple of other comments that have log been discussed on the forum:
1) I had no rail dust on mine at all. Just as smooth as could be. I assume this is a function of the fact that it did not hang around at the railyard too long.
2) I have one discolored splotch on the hood. It cannot be seen unless you are both looking for it and have light on it just right. There are even times I am looking for it and can't find it. I have tried polishing on it, but to no avail. It looks like an oxidized place, but just won't come out. Based on the fact that it almost can never be seen, I am not going to complain about it. If I gripe to the dealer, etiher they will try to get it out an not be able to, or repaint the hood. I would rather have a spot that no one can see than have a repainted, non-factory paint hood.
3) Zaino is the bomb. I was a little skeptical about it at first, but it is good stuff.
4) 303 Protectant is the best stuff I have ever used on tires. It leaves them a rich, dark, black color without the greasy film.
5) The soft top boot is useless to me. With as nice as the top looks when down, I will never use it.
6) Overall, I am really hard-pressed to complain about anything. The splotch on the hood would normally bother me, but no one but me will probably ever notice it. I am one of the biggest perfectionists in the world, and it hasn't gotten to me too bad, so that tells you it is almost invisible (yet it IS still there). Everything else so far as I can tell is perfect.

Not sure about the vert style, not the 05's best color, change the wheels. Other than that...
KIDDING!!!
I saw one in the flesh the other day (coming home from getting the wife her new 05 EB Expedition), and it looked SUWEET!!!
Congrats on the car.
Oh, and just so you know - the obsessive behaviour seems to get worse, rather than better, as time goes by, so I hope the missus has a lot of patience!

Tim - without doubt - a Torch Red convertible the way you've set yours up is going to turn heads for decades to come!!
Saw a Torch Red V6 convertible for the first time just the other day - first time I've seen a any new vert up close and my heart was palpitating noticeably. As gorgeous as the fastback coupe styling is - your vert set-up is simply stunning!
Best wishes for many years and miles of automotive true love!
