Hi Dave, Great pictures. I used to take alt of photos with my Canon Elan II. I got lazy when the little Digital cameras came out. I'm looking into a Canon Rebel XT 8 megapixel. What do you think of it? Can I use my lenses from the Elan since they are EF mount? I also have a flash, wonder if that will work? Thanks for the input.
I'm not sure if they will work? I know on the Rebel G the last version before the XT they would not. I would take your lenses to a dealer and try them before you purchase. You can purchase a 10D 6.3 on ebay for around $700.00 it is the previous version and it is an excellent camera. If the lenses fit the XT is an excellent choice.

Thanks, I'm watching this auction now, he has 3 of them on ebay. I will call the camera store and see if they can tell me. I would like to get the camera with the 18-55 mm lens. Then if my 75-300 works that would be great!

You want an 18 or 14 mm. These are equiv to a 28mm on a 35mm. The CMOS chip has a slightly different size and the lens needs to be a little wider. The biggest problem is that the 18 distorts the edges of the pic a little more than the 28mm on a 35mm film camera.

Look at the picture of the Mustang in the lower right hand corner. You will see the distended front fender. That didn't happen on the 28mm lens with film.
