After 35 years of owning Corvette, Camaro, Firebird, Cougar, 'Cuda... I finally bought my first 'Stang. Dealer is doing the inspection and whatnot, I'll take possession of my "new" '99 GT drop-top this afternoon. It's not the year of my dreams, but in two years it will be emissions exempt and I already have a 351W block in my garage that will make it as entertaining as anything I've owned. Main thing is, the roof folds up. Convertibles can be addictive.
Yeah, this car is by far the nicest used car I've ever owned. Other than a crack in the bezel around the gauge cluster, a questionable bead of silicone on the top, and a few very minor scratches in the paint it's basically showroom new. There aren't any stray wires from PO modifications or missing pieces under the hood even. And I'm the sixth owner, so there's been plenty of opportunity for people to screw with it. It also only has 90,000 miles. That's not much for 23 years.
Wife got to drive it today. First time she's ever driven anything like this. She had a smile pretty much the entire time. She even leaned into it a little at one point. Muffler delete will do that to you. All in all, the most positive car experience I've had in thirty years. I haven't liked a car this much since I sold my '77 Firebird back in the early '90s
