Hi everyone,
I've been looking into purchasing a Mustang since last year around September. I decided to hold off for the 2014 model because I would've been ordering around November anyway. Then I decided to hold off and see if there would be a mid 2014 50th anniversary model - I was almost sure there would be, with a couple different Ford reps alluding to such.
Anyway, I bought a Mazda Miata to have fun with while I wait. I also bought it to see how I'd like driving stick in the city (NYC.) It's not bad, but I might have to go auto - bad knee.... and wife issues. The bad rap the MT82 has doesn't help either.
I don't really have a garage, so I'm tempted to hold off buying until I move to a place that has one - but that might be too long for me to hold out! The only solace I have is that the new gen 2015 is coming soon, but I think I want the last model before the Mustang becomes a world car. In my eyes, this is just about as good as it gets for now, unless 2015 blows it out of the water.
I am a member of another Mustang forum, but you guys seem like good peoples too, so here I am. Good to be here.

Welcome! I would get that 14 auto just how you like right now. The current model IMO is such a great look I don't even think about what the 15 looks like, I hope it is spectacular. But I love mine

I agree. I thought about waiting for the 2015, but decided to go ahead and order my 2014. I've had it for 5 months now and love it. I sold my Honda S2000 to make room in the garage for the Mustang. I don't miss the stick shift. I can shift the SelectShift auto when I want and don't HAVE to when I don't want. Great car!

I have been driving a 6 speed Trans Am for 16 years and really like the 6 speed auto in the 2014 Mustang I just bought. If you are having knee issues perhaps the 6 speed auto will give you everything you need (manual mode is great).

Another thing to consider is if you wanna do mods and such. There will probably be way more stuff thats tested and stable for the 14s than the 15. Completely new models/generations, you usally ended up the guinea pig for the company lol

I too have been looking for one for a while and really like the 2010-2014 models. Those just look so close to the classics. With the HP they have, wow! Makes my old 67 Fastback 390 look wimpy, at least on paper. I am a little leery of the 14 1/2 models coming in April. Big changes sometimes have lots of bugs. I would either get a 14 (Which I have on order, 3-4 weeks more to wait, killing me) or wait for a 16/17 to get the kinks out.
Welcome & good luck on the decision, it won't be easy...
