Old guy found something fun to buy.

After being Mustang-less for a number of years I purchased an older Mu
stang yesterday. I first came across this one back in June of 2012 but for one reason or another never got a chance to go check it out Seller listed it on a number of venues for sale as well as Ebay a number of times. Well yesterday I made the 500 mile round trip to go take a look at it. Ended up working some numbers on it. We shook hands on the deal, and I will rent a trailer to go pick it up later this week or the next.

It is a 1999 35th Anniversary Limited Edition GT Convertible with a manual transmission, 23,500 miles on it. White with a black convertible top, black leather with silver insert seats. It still sits on the original tires. The interior is like new and the exterior is a strong 97 out of 100. Can't wait to get it home do some maintance on it and enjoy some top down road time.

That is so cool. It is almost like FATE decided that car was meant for you, otherwise someone would have bought it during all that time.
Mine was similar: the fact that it was still there when I went to get it proves I was meant to have this car.

Congrats, enjoy your ragtop.

You know, that is kind of the way I look at it.

It was back during this June 2012 forward time that I was spending more time taking care of my Mom whos health was failing. So getting away to go check out the Mustang took back seat needless to say.

I remember on her last hospital stay she talked about wanting to purchase a new vehicle for my brother and sister as they were both in bad need of something dependable to drive. She then said she also wanted to buy me a Land Rover, because back in the early 90s I took her for an off road test drive in a Defender with me.

I kind of laughed and said no to the LR and said I needed a new Shelby so that I could keep up with my son on his new Kawasaki Z12 the fastest production motorcycle available. About then my son spoke up and said, don't waste your money, my bike is faster than a Shelby..LOL!!!

She then said, well I am sure something will come along, maybe that little white Mustang you were looking at will show back up.

Low and behold, it did. I am making use of my inheritance to purchased this 35th Limited Edition covert Mustang.

Sometimes things just work out the way you hoped. Sorry for your loss but the memory will be there and having the car attached to that is priceless. Great find.

Yes, condolences also. I checked out the ebay listing and the car looks to be in great shape. We love cruising in our convertible and I'm sure you will too!!!

Thank you all for your thoughts, it does mean a lot to me.

I have been visiting a few different Mustang related forums here of late. And I can say with all honesty that this is by far the best I have been to. Not because of the content, but due to the members which are the back bone to any great group or forum.

Congrats on the car and I am sure Mom is smiling down on you.

I am an old guy and just bought a 2011 GT/CS and can't wait to start driving it.

Great looking car.

Regards,
Jake80
