Hi all, I'm a hopeful future Mustang owner. I'm planning on getting a new (to me) car sometime in the next couple months and the Mustang has always been one of my favorite cars. I stumbled across the forums doing some research and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. My best friend in high school restored a 66 coupe with a 289 with his dad and then my cousin had 2000 V6 vert and the icing on the cake was gorgeous 66 convertible an old guy at my church restored for his wife. I'm starting to watch ads now so hopefully I can find a great stang at a great price!

Welcome to the TMS boards bud!

Depending on what you are looking for as well, I'd suggest also searching using www.autotrader.com There are a TON of Mustangs listed on there, esp if you are willing to travel a bit to get exactly what you want.

Oh yes, I am already a big fan of Autotrader. I used it when we got my wife's SUV. I had found it online for 12.9. So I printed the ad and we went into the dealer which was having a huge slasher/tent sale on their used cars. They had it marked 17.5 or so. So I kept quiet about the ad in my pocket and we went for a test drive and came back back and they sliced the price to about 15.5. I was a little surprised knowing I had seen it online for 12.9. So we went inside with the salesguy and he was like Well what do you think. I told him we liked but not at that price. So I whipped out the ad, and he was like weird, let me go ask my boss. He came back and was like my boss had no idea about this either but we'll give it to you. So i tried to get a little bit more off but they weren't budging. I figured we made out ok as that was a few K below book value.

Old one are great but I'm definitely going to be shopping for a more contemporary model. Either 03-04 SN95 or 06-07 S197. Gonna be a manual GT. I would love vert but the wife despises convertibles. Since this will be our "good gas mileage car,"

Old one are great but I'm definitely going to be shopping for a more contemporary model, since it will be my DD for several. Either 03-04 SN95 or 06-07 S197. Gonna be a manual GT. I would love a vert but the wife despises convertibles. Since this will be our "good gas mileage car," I'll keep her happy and get a hardtop, so that she will ride with me. I'd been thinking SN95 but looking online I'm thinking I can find a moderately low mileage S197 in what will be my price range (<15k).
