Newb from WI
Hi All,
So...as I move closer to retirement I discover I want another hotrod. No go-fast car right now. Had a few in the past: '70 Challenger, '73 Nova and '77 Porsche 911.
I'm torn between a classic muscle car and the modern verison. Mustang is one of the modern variants I'm investigating so I joined to do some research and check out some pics. This seems like a good place to do just that. The 2013 GT seems like a rockin' car.
Thanks for having me.

Welcome Dan. I too had those mixed feeling. I had 67 fastback 390ci with all the works growing up. Always wanted to get another one. Once concept car for the latest version came out I started following the revisions each year. Really liked the looks and power of the Shelbys and was considering getting one. But, still like my old one. After a lot of round and round I really decided that I did not have the time required to keep the classic mustangs maintained the way one should. So I have ordered me a 2014 Mustang GT premium, that will be updated to a Roush Stage 2. Did not want to get a Supercharged car. 420hp of the GT is more than enough for a toy for me. Do not plan on any competitive racing, maybe a little track time just for fun. Good luck on your decision. Either way I do not think you can go wrong.

Thanks, all.
Steve, emotionally I'd love a Shelby, but I really don't need a Shelby. I'm not all that 'go fast'. Rode Harley's for years and they were plenty fast enough for me.
I want something that looks good and sounds better. I'm sure 420 is great plenty, but man, blower motors sound soooo good.

And the thing is yes, 420hp is alot. However, it will never be enough! Just like 662hp is a whole bunch....already looking for hp mods once the warranty is gone. I swear it's a disease...

Well, no one really "needs a shelby"
However, you only live once! We love ours more and more everyday!

I agree with that, the mod bug has definitely bitten. I have not even got the car yet, but have been searching the web to see what I might want to change. CAI, Shifter, Headers, Clutch, Brakes, maybe the RS3 upgrade, who knows. I would love a Shelby, and that was the original plan, of coarse when the new runs off this one that could be the next move. We will have to see.
