Hello! I recently bought a 2013 Red Candy GT Premium manual with 54k miles on it from carmax. I fell in love with it the moment I test drove it and it tried to buck me out of the drivers seat. (Turns out traction control is the enemy). My first manual car was about a decade ago when I owned a 95 mustang GT 5.0 with 200bhp! Lol
I've decided to name it Wile E. Coyote. Seemed fitting.
Wile E. Came with pretty much all the bells and whistles. Race striped leather seats, nav system with backup camera, 19" black/ aluminum polished wheels, etc. Only thing they didnt opt for was the brembo package and higher gears. Which I would've love to have.
I plan on keeping it forever so I'm going to be researching and replacing the fluids and checking to make sure it's as good as can be.
I'm checking to see why my brakes are squeaking when pressed in and noticed it's slightly rough to switch between 1st and 2nd gear. Is there anything else I should look out for at this point? Anything that i should look out for around this mileage? It's got 3 month warranty so I'd like to try to identify as much as I can to make sure it's good before I start adding Bolt ons.
Thanks and I look forward to hanging around the forum

welcome to the forum! nice car, among all the other great things about it, that is the best color! (though it is at its best in the sun, a cloudy day does not do it justice) :-)
brakes might need new pads; first thing to do is try "bedding" them, which basically means do a series of fairly hard stops from about 50-60 MPH down to about 5-10 MPH; the idea is to get them good and hot without coming to a complete stop, then drive around and let them cool, without coming to a complete stop . . . this will clean up the pads and rotors, and put a fresh layer of pad material on the rotors
there are some threads on here about the transmission, including the latest on the best fluid to use -- I think the first thing I would do, is research (read the threads) and then change the transmission fluid to whatever is the latest and greatest (not sure exactly what that is)
and judging from your username, hope you get to the track soon! (road track that is . . . drag strip is fun, but road track is a lot more fun)
Congrats! Nice car. Like Bert mentioned the shifting issue can be a problem, but there are some easy solutions. Search there are a few threads on it here...
