Hey guys. I've seen many helpful posts here over the past couple of years so I figured I'd join and jump in on some of the discussions!

I'm actually on my 6th Mustang in 11 years (including my wife's old v6 we traded for a '12 Edge). My newest one is the 2012 GT 5.0 Coyote in Race Red. I've got about 2200 miles on it now and really haven't done a lot to it yet. I've added a Roush CAI and just today, bought an SCT tuner for it.

I've always loved Mustangs but I've never done any mods to my cars before now. Well, nothing more than replacing the air filter with a K&N and having axle-backs installed by a pro. I'm a Network Adminstrator\I.T. Manager so I'm more of a computer geek and a WANNABE GEARHEAD! Now that's changing. There are so many things I'm wanting to do to my ride I don't know where to start! I've been getting advice from a couple of guys at Dallas Mustang who have been really cool. So here are my plans for my next few upgrades. Tell me what you guys think (if you've managed to read this far). Comments and suggestions are very welcome. Keep in mind I have to keep it street-legal.

*SCT TUNE, (with retune after each upgrade)
REPLACE CRAPPY ROUSH CAI (maybe not immediately)
JBA LONG TUBE HEADERS
BORLA S-TYPE STINGERS (axle-back only, depending on headers' loudness factor!)
BOSS 302 INTAKE MANIFOLD
BBK THROTTLE BODY

Welcome and just a few thoughts you should try to do. In your career path you're used to writing things down and executing a game plan. The biggest and by far best thing you can do is write down what your end goal is with your 2012 GT and work from the ground up. Sounds like you're going to have a daily driver and you can go to 500+ HP naturally aspirated with the right motor, cams, header, and exhaust upgrades. The weakest link I've seen in these new Mustangs are the transmissions. I'm very thankful mine still came with a Tremec but even those have their quarks too.

Well if you want to be semantically correct you need to talk to my Dad about how he referred to his relatives ....

but oh snap, i forgot -- you have your own language.. so feel free to correct me at your leisure.

ok, BACK to Mustangs.

So I SCT tuned my car and I've had a week to drive it. I can REALLY FEEL the HP gains! I would like to think that I'm getting better gas mileage but I can't keep my accellerator off the floor! I think I'll try and take it easy this week and see what I can get out of the tune. After 2000 miles, I was getting 16.6 on average.

I plan on adding long tube headers next but it's going to be a couple of months before I can affort it.

Sounds like you are having a good time..

I'm going to install the FRPP Power Upgrade kit sometime next week -- got to wait till the shop has an empty rack, and i'll throw on the mufflers and pop in the air filter.

have fun!!

I'm getting about 17.5 MPG now after the tune and CAI. Really surprised it's no better than that but honestly, it's not really a concern. I'm thinking about another mod soon. Would you guys suggest going with long tube headers or the Boss 302 intake manifold next?

Actually, I need to either start a new thread or start posting this stuff in other existing threads before the moderators kick me outta here. lol

Ah yeah man, this is awesome! Tell ya though, I've got too many hobbies. I play guitar, like to collect and shoot guns and play poker whenever I can get away. All those have been put on hold until I've satisfied my hunger for MORE HP!!!!! >

Let us know what kind of gains you get from that power pack! Sounds like you're having fun with yours too!
