Happy New Year, just signed up tonight. My first mustang was a 15 GT PP1 with 401a, love that car, still my fav., before the mustang I was into JDM, loved Integra. Anyway, I needed another daily drive last year and came across a 11 GT/CS, looked at it took it home, new daily can wait. Shortly after that my 15 GT got totaled so I ordered a 24 GT PP, 401a with active exhaust. Love the way it handles, but hate the cluster, especially the profile issue with the premium trim.
Welcome to TMS and congratulations on your '24! I also had an Integra back in the day and that car was fun and built like a rock. We would love to see some pictures of your new ride.
Yea the Integra was really fun, I had the Type R in white and an second gen LS.
Here are some pics and I park at the same spot when I go to the gym on weekends lol 🤣
Fun fact the 15 GT was taken at work and they actually shot part of the silence of the lambs there.
Welcome! Very nice Mustangs! The S650 is growing on me but the dash is still something that I have trouble liking. The performance of the S550 and S650 platform I think is the best package to date.
Thank you! I didn't like the S650 at first, till one day I saw a pic of the rear end that got the tail light just right and it look like S197 tail light. And the cluster is a nightmare. Have the car for 5 months and it was at the shop for 1.5 months for the cluster. They replaced the cluster the battery and the issue still not fix. They say it's a bug in the software for the saved profile. Who knows....
It's funny, I didn't really care for the S550 when I first saw it but it grew on me and I decided to buy one as a shop car. Comparing my '20 to the 15-17 models, I don't care for the raised edges on the hood of the earlier version. The performance of the chassis is fantastic and the rigidity is light years better than the Fox platform. I chose the Ecoboost because it's what the SVO would be today and I think they missed out by not bringing back that name. I also have a friend who designed a new turbo for the Mustang Ecoboost and I bought it to use to help test fit his Turbo. When we sent that turbo to a guy in Texas with a built motor he made 609 RWHP...that was impressive. Driving the 5.0 vs the 2.3 Turbo I feel the Ecoboost has a better around town powerband, while the 5.0 puts you back in the seat it just doesn't have the same nimble feel. We are waiting on the newest version of the BNR turbo with the ball bearing design and I'll be putting his smaller turbo on the stock engine and see if we can make 450 RWHP. I've got 34K miles on it now and have tracked it, I've been very pleased with it but I don't believe in Ford's oil change intervals so I stick with the 3000 mile rule as opposed to Ford's 5000 mile. I also think the 5.0 guys should do the same and use a better-quality oil like Driven GP-1...the intake cam on those engines is a problem with wear and I feel there is a lack of oiling which is causing that, I've seen too many with the intake cam showing signs of wear.
Thank you for the tip on the oil, I been debating rather to change it every 3k or 5k. I agree with the Ecoboost, they gave me a convertible loaner and I felt that the track mode on that is way better than the GT for city driving, it was stupid fast at the stop light. But that's an auto vs 6 speed...

It also took a while before the S550 grew on me, but would love having one for a stable mate with my 2006 GT If I had enough garage space for 2 cars... As for the S650 cars, it's also going to take some time before they grow on me... In the meantime, thank you for posting some pics of your Mustangs, both past and present...
