New Here, First Mustang

Hi everybody, my name is Justin, and this is my first Mustang.

I've owned several performance cars, all Japanese, but I've been captivated by the S197 for several years. Anyway, now that I'm in my 30's and starting to make some real money, I decided my first new car should be my new 2008 Vista Blue GT Premium I just ordered and am anxiously awaiting (ordered 11/30, delivery in mid-Jan, this is going to take sooooo long). So out with my Celica, in with some real power!

I've been looking at different mustang forums for a while, and you all seem to be a nice bunch of people, so I thought I'd say hi and participate! Hope to see you around soon!

Justin

Welcome Justin

It's a funny thing, the car looks totally great...in my mind. I guess it's a right of passage many people make. The big wait. The next month and a half to two months are going to be very long waiting for this car.

And I'm already buying mods for it...sad really. But I just ordered a Bullitt shift **** from the 08 Bullitt from partscheap (going to get the boot soon hopefully) and some yellow fog light bulbs for the grill. I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I'm able!

Thanks for the welcome!

It's here! I went to the dealer and took possession today, although I have to give it up again in a couple of weeks because the factory didn't delete my spoiler like I asked, so the dealer is going to fill the holes and paint and install a CDC Ducktail and Third Brake light kit (they had them on hand) for no labor cost to me

However. The sales guy, without asking me (I forgot, in my euphoria to mention) just drilled the front license plate into the fascia! GRRRR!!! I basically wanted to either run a screwless bracket or just leave it off, and now I have holes in my bumper. And he didn't even put a bracket or anything to mount it to! They just stuck the #$@$ license plate up the bumper and put some screws through! Maybe I'm being **** here, but it's my new baby.

Cheers and Happy New Year to everyone at TMS!

yeah...I was pretty upset to just see this plate hanging out with nothing else on it. should have told him I didn't want to transfer my old plates so I'd just get a sticker, which would have avoided the problem.

I am absolutely positively loving this car! My only complaint is to myself for not getting one a long time ago! Like so many others, I'm just looking for excuses to get in and drive it, although it's kind of difficult trying not to really wring it out until I get through engine break-in (been varying the speeds, but trying not to mess up the gearing by pounding it too hard through break in).

I already know that unless it turns into a lemon (furiously crossing fingers) that I'll have it for many years.
