Thanks guys. Like I said, I have a base GT with the 3.55 gears. Its gray with my only mod a blacked out pony front grill. I still get complements on it and its a nice looking car, but the interior is getting old to me and wish I had better seats at least. I had planned on keeping this one until it is paid off (about 4 more years) since I have a habit of trading cars in ever few years and never get ahead.
But I recently got a new job that is further away but pays better and I started hearing how the ecoboost models responded to simple mods like a tune. so I started researching them and now hear there are a lot of motors blowing up. So I searched for some GT's for the heck of it and see they are a little cheaper than what I paid (around 30k) with a lot of nice upgrades like track pack, IRS, push start, ect. I also like the sound of how the automatics are responding and found a couple auto stangs around 33k with a couple options, but the dealer that has those is like a 7 hour drive. The more I think about it, I would really like to have a premium since it has the mycolor and the drive modes since I will most likely keep driving it in the winter. The cheapest prem. I can find is around 36k and that's 3k or so more than I want to spend.
So not sure what to do now as I know the smart thing to do would be to keep it until its paid off or at least close to it, but hate to pass up on a good deal and the fact that I'm surprised I may be close to breaking even on my car now according to kbb.

IDK, I really like the Ruby red with black package. There is a sharp looking loaded ecoboost with the performance package and ceramic leather seats. I thought they had a base GT auto with leather, but can't find it now. So what is the consensus on the turbo? I hear just a good tune can give you abound 375hp and 420tq. The torque is what I love. I had a 2010 genesis with only 210hp stock but a tune that supposedly only added 30hp and 80tq really transformed that car. I want something that won't void the warranty right away though and like the sound of the V8. It just looks like a GT with everything I want on it is going to be too pricey at the moment. The auto with the rain/snow setting and remote start would be awesome for the winter. But I've gotten along ok so far with the manual and snow tires. I guess I probably should try to hold out as long as I can to build some equity so I can get a better deal and more for the money.

Welcome Mrbobcat:
I love my new ruby red ecoboost mustang automatic without premium package, got it out the door for 28.
It will do 0-60 in 5.6 secs but I do intend to mod it, I am waiting for the ford racing procal tune to come out so it won't void my new cars warranty, they are expecting number gains as the same as the ford focus tune received which is bump of about 90hp and 110lb of torque, ford dealer tune should be about $300.
In the future I plan too add a cold air intake for $350, exhaust upgrade for $400 and the ford performance street handling package for $1,000... of course those are part costs and do not include any outside labor if that would be needed.

Hello and welcome. I feel ya. I too am on my 2nd mustang. Love it but the s550 has grown on me. I love them even more now that I took one out for a drive this week. As for the turbo, I've not driven one but I'm hooked on the V8. I don't think I could ever go back to a 4cyl. As for the ecoboost, I have listened to many videos of different exhausts, honestly they all sound bad. None of them sound remotely close to a V8. I would never get one, but that is just me.
