Hey guys, I've been lurking for a little bit, but decided to finally join. I currently drive a 2011 Mitsubishi Evo X GSR w/ bolt ons. It's actually the third Evo I've owned. I had an 04 Evo VIII, 08 Evo X GSR, and now my current one. I've always been a Mustang fan, but wanted the Evo AWD since these cars were DD's. A lot has changed over the years and my car basically stays parked now since I have a company vehicle. I'm 95% sure of making a switch over to a 2013/14 GT with track pack and Recaro's. I know they're both different cars, but I just love the performance of the new GT's. Plus, I have access to the X-plan from where I work so I should get a pretty good deal on a new one. Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be making the switch.
You will love the switch. My little brother drives a 430HP+ WRX and even he was like, DANG!, when I took him for a ride in mine. You might miss the AWD a little but it's a trade off. Things are much simpler to make great power.
The best part seems to be that a lot of parts are reasonably priced for the mustang. I hated how expensive modding an import could cost. I know you get what you pay for in most cases, but for imports, they ask a premium just because it's "JDM". Won't have to worry about that anymore. I'm sure I'll leave the powertrain stock for a while, other than a catback or axleback, but there's so many appearance options that don't seem to cost a whole lot.
^^Thanks!
I just got home from one of the local dealers and finally pulled the trigger on ordering a Black GT with 301A, Track Package, and Recaro's. Used the X-plan and got a decent deal. I actually visited two dealers today, with the first one being completely clueless on anything. Nobody knew how to put together an order quote, super low balled my Evo X value, and didn't really want to be bothered. The salesman was actually a very good guy, but everyone else was useless. The second dealer was on top of their game. Knew exactly what I wanted and I was in and out in under an hour. Now the wait begins!

Congrats on the order. The dealership I bought my car from was also clueless. They tried to tell me I couldn't get the Recaro seats without getting the Boss or Shelby for 13 but I corrected them when I showed them the exact car that I wanted at another dealership. I ended up buying that car after they did a switcheroo and made the deal happen. Sometimes you wonder how dealerships make any money these days. Most guys that work there aren't "car guys" but salesmen. It was a surprise since they had two Raptors, a Boss and a Shelby on the lot.
