Shane, can we clone you??? LOL!!

Attitude: Car:

The only thing we really try to avoid is talking trash about other members, k? The majority of our members are very accepting of others. Dont let the few that arent bug ya. Enjoy yourself, and keep showing off those track numbers. One of these days you should have a friendly match up with a Stang, I would love to see how they stack up against each other.

I am with the crowd that isnt a fan of the new body style. Interior is nice, and yours is prolly the nicest looking GTO I have yet to see.

Yeah sorry about that, I just got a little fed up with a certain member. You can see why here http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...pic=14745&st=40 if you are interested.

Thanks for the kind words and compliments.

That looks awesome!
once again, the front grill inserts look amazing!

Are you still thinking about changing the hood?

Yeah, but I have more performance mods still left to do. My bolt-ons are now done so I have some suspension/drivetrain work to do so that the car can handle the power. Then comes heads/cam then the hood...but right now I am in the process of buying a house, so pretty much everything is on stand by right now.

I did a little more tweaking and got the numbers up to 361rwhp & 370rwtq. I ran a new best of 12.6@110 in the quarter, but there is A LOT more there...I was wheel hopping like a rabbit the whole way down the track...which is where the suspension and drivetrain mods I was talking about will come in. On one run I got it to hook up good and I kept the wheel hop to a minimum....and wouldn't you know it...I blew my 3-4 shift (new shifter) and I coasted across the finish line in neutral to a 12.80@108....which tells me that was easily a 12.3-12.4 pass if I had not blown that shift.

But, alas, as I said, I am concentrating on getting a house right now, so no more money to spend on the goat for quite some time. Which means it will not see any more passes for a while...cause I gotta fix that wheel hop...it is going to shake my car to pieces.

Oh, and thanks by the way! I had just spend an entire day polishing her up just before I took those pics.

I had passed one of the new GTO's this morning on the way into work, IMO this car is just to plain looking, it really is a shame to put the GTO tag on this car, again this is just my opinion...Maybe the Mustang will help GM get off of there butts ... :bang:

That's why opinions are opinions, everyone's is different. I love the looks of my car. Also, I think people like to forget that the original GTO was just a plain 2-door "sedan" with a huge engine dropped in and a scooped hood. heck, there were 2 other pontiac models out at the same time with the exact same body. The looks were plain back then too, the difference is that the classics are looked back on more fondly and where known as muscle cars irregardless of what they looked like. I really don't get the "it is a shame to put GTO on it" concept. The modern GTO is more in line with the classic GTO than people like to remember or admit, the only real exception is that the modern day goat is much faster and performs much better.

I know that you are proud of youre wheels, no problem there, but GM needs to get in the ballgame period, I owned a 69 GTO, and I totally disagree with youre assesment on this matter, so be it let GM continue to produce the same old lame designs, get rid of the camaro and build a car in Australia and then put the GTO tag on it GFG...GM, it's overly apparent they need to step up, or step out of the game, just IMO.. :bang: :bang:

Its not an "assesment" its a fact. The old school GTO were rebadged LeMans coupes, fact. And either way, looks are subjective...so as far as the "step up or step out" thing I would have to assume you are talking performance? In which case, I think the new GTO is stepping just fine.
