new car... new member...
From Gaithersburg, MD (outside of D.C.), just got a new 08 Vista Blue auto v6 pony coupe.
Previously, I was driving an 07 mazda3 GT back and forth from DC... but that car simply didn't make sense anymore when I started working less than 5 miles from my home (and I was only getting about 16mpg city.)
So, the wife (who is a HUGE mustang fan since birth - she was nearly born in a 65 mustang) talked me into "trading up" to the mustang. (Okay, she didn't really talk me into it... but she certainly had no objections..)
Initial impressions (compared to the mazda3): missing a lot of the frills such as auto HID headlights, auto wipers, etc. On the other hand, I still have the heated leather seats. Mazda3 had more initial go on it's 2.3 liter engine, but once past about 20mph, the mustang's v6 would blow the 3 away... (either via accel or by scaring the %$^# out of it with the loud roar.) After 150 miles, I'm actually getting BETTER city mileage on the mustang (which really makes no sense considering how much more fun I'm having with it.)
I'm pretty thankful I didn't test-drive the GT, or I'd likely be $4k poorer.
With DC area traffic, I'd never really get to open up the GT anyway
It's only a stock pony package, so nothing special to take a photo of...
