For those of you who aren't aware, all Canadian 2005 Mustangs come with the spoiler, there are no exceptions! I even tried pulling strings through the top Canadian Ford brass to get mine without, but no luck... :notnice:
I regularly go to Plattsburg NY on business, and I know that they sold a black V6 there with no spoiler back in April, about a month before mine arrived in Montreal.
I stopped in at Plattsburg Ford last week, and they graciously called the owner of the car to see if he would like a free spoiler for his Mustang!
The guy came over and I swapped the trunk lids right in the parking lot of the dealership! I had to change the locks, struts etc..., but the only really tricky part was un-sticking the big chrome medallions on the back (mine's a GT).
He left happier than a pig in poop, and so did I!
I gave the lid a polish and wax when I got home, as well as a couple of adjustments to the fit, and voila! An all Ford Canadian spoiler delete!
I truly love the new look, and the paint is a perfect match with the same factory orange peel etc...
My thanks to Plattsburg Ford for contacting him for me, and to a couple of their sales guys who lent a hand in the parking lot.
Paul

PS. None of this will matter by fall, "Spoiler delete" will be available on CDN '06 GT's.

Hey Paul,

Plattsburgh Ford also sold a W/B V-6. I was hoping to do the same thing, but that one had a spoiler. The salesman told me about your swap.

Thanks guys, I was very fortunate that it all just worked out.
The people at Plattsburg Ford were super nice.
Despite the fact that they knew that I had not bought my car from them, and that there was nothing in it for them ($$$), they called the guy, let me use their lot, and lent a hand. How often do you see that from a car dealer these days? :worship:

I can't wait to see the stripes Bill! Combined with those SPL Loudmouths and that red leather in your vert, you are going to cut quite a swath through the quiet hamlet of Plattsburg!

Thanks Kristina, I was very fortunate indeed. I had brought my tools with me on the very slim chance that they would call the guy and he would agree... I was so surprised when he showed up and it all worked out!
Some days all the stars just lineup right and everything falls into place.
