Looking for honest answers w/o sales pitches.

Ok. So, I am new to the fuel injection/computerized mods world. I have an idea of what I want out of my 2020 GT, but receive many different opinions on which way to go.

I want my GT to remain naturally aspirated, and achieve as much HP / Torque with out getting inside the engine.

So far, my mods include an Airaid MXP cai, and a Flow Master Outlaw series cat back exhaust. Tunes from 5 star are coming soon for E85, 93, and 110.

Within the next year or so I am thinking about larger intake manifold and throttle body, but definitely long tube headers.

Anyone here have any suggestions for bolt on performance parts which will yield the most gains?

What do you think?

welcome to the forum, and I doubt you will get any "sales pitches" here (though we do give the sponsors a pass if they chime in with a good word about their products every now and then)

I don't have any direct experience with the current platform, but my general opinion is that you won't get much more out of these engines, without major modifications like a supercharger. The engineers have already done a very good job of extracting amazing performance from these engines. If you want to do those mods for the fun of it, I say go for it; but don't calculate the HP gained per dollar spent because it will be very low.

I agree, with out doing some major mods you are getting alot out of you mustang already. Just as Bert said I am not to familiar with you gen but I believe he is right. I mean you could do bigger fuel pumps, super/turbo charges, port and polish yada yada yada but I dont think you want to get into all of that with a new mustang right now. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I agree and recommend following the advice from Burt and Jaryd21.. Also be aware that once you make serious modifications, such as cam upgrades and especially if adding nitrous? you void your factory warranty should any failure occur to your OEM engine/powertrain component parts. If your looking for more HP/TQ gains beyond your stock 460 HP? The most reliable and efficient way, is to add a supercharger which doesn't void your factory warranty, providing you purchase the S/C thru an authorized Ford dealer and have them do the installation. As for upgrading to larger intake manifolds, fuel pumps, throttle bodies and LT headers? IMO with a good aftermarket custom tune, I would guess you'll notice between a 30-40 gain in HP/TQ, but that's just a guess on my part. Therefore, I would seek advice from whoever your custom tuning shop is before purchasing those mod upgrades mentioned. Also note that when upgrading to LT headers, your vehicle will not pass the state OBDII emissions test. Anyhow, just saying that if your state does require emissions testing? that you keep that in mind. Personally, if it were my car? I'd be satisfied with the mod upgrades you've already done and call it a day. Meanwhile, congrats on your 2020 GT. Best of luck and welcome to TMS.

Very helpful

Thanks for the responses! This is the first that I wasn’t being sold something I did not need or want. I am glad ya’ll are candid and not BSing me.

In the future I might install headers and revise the tunes, but no major work here.

Thanks again!
