Name is Burt, just bought my 10th Mustang, a 2011 GT. Am loving the power, Coyote engine is remarkable.
I'm in the Las Vegas/Henderson area and wonder if anyone can recommend a good, honest mechanic?
Looking forward to interacting with those in this forum and will appreciate any help with finding good mechanic.
Thanks to all.
Welcome aboard Burt! Also congrats on your 10th Mustang... You'll most definitely enjoy your 2011 GT, as the 5.0 Coyote 4v engine is indeed very remarkable, especially for a N/A small block to make 412HP at the crank, so you certainly can't go wrong, that's for sure lol... In regards to locating to a good automotive technician in your local area, I would most definitely follow 05stangkc (Kevin's) recommendation by talking and becoming acquainted with folks at some of your local car meets.. Those would be the kind of folks who could best refer you to the right automotive repair shops which have a very reliable track record, and also specialize in working on performance oriented vehicles.. At any rate, I would start there... Meanwhile, best of luck and once again, welcome aboard Also just one more thing
Thanks to all who responded. We dont have that many shows here, but attend every event I can. BTW, I also had a 93 SVT Cobra and a 72 Capri (not counting that in my Mustang
list.). Trying to attach more pics, but not very tech savvy, so bear with me. Remember, I'm old.
You're in good company, a lot of us here are "old" ... some older than others, LOL (that means "laughing out loud" not "lots of love" ... just in case .. LOL )

She said, "I've seen you in here before."
I said, "I've been here a time or two."
She said, "Hello, my name is Bobby Jo.
Meet my twin sister Betty Lou.
And we're both feeling kinda wild tonight.
You're the only cowboy in this place.
And if you're up for a rodeo,
I'll put a big Texas smile on your face."
I said, "Girls,
I ain't as good as I once was
I got a few years on me now
But there was a time
Back in my prime
When I could really lay it down.
And if you need some love tonight
Then I might have just enough.
I ain't as good as I once was,
But I'm as good once as I ever was."
I still hang out with my best friend Dave.
I've known him since we were kids at school.
Last night he had a few shots,
Got in a tight spot
Hustlin' a game of pool
With a couple of redneck boys.
One great big bad biker man.
I heard David yell across the room,
"Hey, buddy, how 'bout a helping hand!"
I said, "Dave,
I ain't as good as I once was.
My, how the years have flown,
But there was a time
Back in my prime
When I could really hold my own.
But if you wanna fight tonight,
Guess those boys don't look all that tough.
I ain't as good as I once was
But I'm as good once as I ever was."
I used to be hell on wheels
Back when I was a younger man.
Now my body says, "You can't do this, boy,"
But my pride says, "Oh, yes you can."
I ain't as good as I once was.
That's just the cold hard truth.
I still throw a few back,
Talk a little smack
When I'm feeling bullet-proof.
So don't double-dog dare me now
'Cause I'd have to call your bluff.
I ain't as good as I once was,
But I'm as good once as I ever was.
May not be good as I once was,
But I'm as good once as I ever was.
One foot on the brake and one on the gas, hey
Well, there's too much traffic, I can't pass, no
So I tried my best illegal move
A big black and white come and crushed my groove again
Go on and write me up for 125
Post my face, wanted dead or alive
Take my license, all that jive
I can't drive 55, oh no, uh
So I signed my name on number 24, hey
Yeah the judge said, "Boy, just one more, huh
I'm gonna throw your *** in the city joint"
Looked me in the eye, said, "You get my point?"
I say "Yeah!, Oh yeah"
Write me up for 125
Post my face, wanted dead or alive
Take my license, all that jive
I can't drive 55, oh yeah
(I can't drive 55)
(I can't drive 55)
(I can't drive 55)
(I can't drive) 55, uh
When I drive that slow, you know it's hard to steer
And I can't get my car out of second gear
What used to take two hours now takes all day
Huh, it took me 16 hours to get to L.A.

Prior to my first S197 Mustang, I also owned an SVT "93" Cobra which I now regret parting with, especially now that their appreciating in value, so your definitely not alone from that point of view.. Anyhow thanks for posting an image of your 2011 GT, as she looks absolutely stunning to say the very least... As for being old, your also once again far from being alone, as many of us on this site are in the same boat as yourself lol. In the meantime, once again welcome aboard

Hey Burt, just want to welcome you to TMS. Always great to have new members joining. Also nice to have some new "old" guys to join in with the rest of us. Nice car! Not familiar with the mechanics in the Vegas area though, but nice to see someone from out west!
@05stangkcCan't go wrong with a little Sammy and "I Can't Drive 55"
Very respectable list of Mustangs there @NC14GT. I can only claim 2 that was almost 3, but wife's choice won out for a econo-box Rabbit back in '79 or it would have been 3. We were struggling college kids back then and every penny was tight. Kind of like today.
