Hi from Texas
I drive a 2005 V6 Mustang, white with custom blue stripes. It has 233,000 miles on it and is still a great car and none the worse for wear. I bought it for Valentines day in 2005 and there were almost none of the new body style on the road then. People would almost change lanes into me looking at it.
I will be looking for another car this summer and although I loved my 98 F150 Conversion truck before the Mustang, it will probably be a 2013 Mustang. I am leaning toward a Deep Impact Blue GT Convertible. What does everyone think about the stereo systems? Is the Premium Sound system worth the extra money? I have a Shaker 500 in mine, the Shaker 1000 was the option at the time and the trunk on those was nearly unusable since it was full of speakers.
Nice to be here.

Deep Impact Blue was my second color choice and a great one. I've been a Ford guy since my ugly soybean green '49 four door sedan with the flat head V8 when I was in high school. It's great to be getting back to Ford, especially with the job they have done over the last few years.

Welcome! It's awesome that you enjoyed your '05 for 200+ thousand miles!
As for stereo, I recommend getting shaker 500 because it's a good starting point, but shaker 1000/shaker pro/whatever they call it now is a waste of money. Take that extra money you'd spend on the pro and spend it on nice aftermarket speakers. I've been in new mustangs with the shaker pro system and it's nothing to write home about.
I have shaker 500 and put Boston Acoustics components in my doors and Kicker speakers in my rear deck and as far as sound quality is concerned my stereo blows shaker 1000/pro out of the water. The premium stereo is a little bassier than my system, but if all you want is booming bass you're still better off going aftermarket for less money and better results.

Thanks for the well wishes. I appreciate the information on the speaker system. That is the one thing I enjoy in all my vehicles no matter how long I drive them so I wondered if the extra was worth it.
The 500 is awesome.
I may try to drive mine 300k. That would really be an achievement.
